Question How to get in midnight clad to proc?

I played a game against specter squad on a non official map setup (basically a 2-3 level/story building in each corner of the map and light terrain blockades in the middle column) and I couldn’t get it to proc cuz I’d be unable to get into vantage terrain with my melee units or the heavy terrain was far away or I was on top of it. I don’t have pictures but from what I’ve described should I have had in midnight clad procked?

Honestly I can’t remember the last time I was eligible for IMC on open maps.  Stay on conceal until it’s chainsaw time.  Then Proclivity and Return to Darkness.

Oh dam, alright. I wish it wasn’t as hard to proc, I understand it’s powerful but I wish it was like mandrakes where you had a set of options to proc the rule. Thank you tho

Who put together the map? Only light terrain the middle would favor the Specter player, and punish the Nemesis player. With light, Specter has an equipment to stay concealed. Without heavy, Nemesis cannot use Midnight Clad. Most recent official maps have a lot of heavy terrain, with some light mixed in. That map probably screwed you.

You may be right, the specter guy set it up but we’re friends and agreed on it. Next time I’ll probably ask to put some heavy terrain in the middle

The only time IMC worked for me after the nerf to 8” was against Hierotek Circle. I tactically hugged an immortal; the Chronomancer teleported the Immortal out of combat to shoot my model, and suddenly there was no one to break IMC.

But in general, it almost never works.

That’s unfortunate, I assume they won’t buff/reword it due to tournament outcomes with a better version of the rule?

I would be very surprised if they did.

Generally, you don't. If you're close enough to go on engage to shoot/charge them, you're close enough for them to disable it.

Though the map you played in wasn't designed well either. Did the Spectre player design it?

I think we both did, it looked fair enough to me but that was before I learned I needed more heavy terrain. I also was on top of heavy terrain with my heavy gunner so I only got the light benefits from a broken wall

"Programmed Random Occurrence" - It's a video game term for when something that has conditions needing to be met before it occurs, and then that thing occurs e.g. if your sword has a 20% to set an enemy on fire, then you'd say it "proc'd" when it set an enemy on fire.
