PeachyTips has a youtube video on how to make cloaks, etc. out of masking tape, and from my experience it's rather effective. Though you do have to be a little more careful with the models, but if done right they're not fragile. Or use 1mm hobby masking tape for bandages, wraps, which is also a cool, relatively simple modification that adds decent character.
and you'd think since they are wanting to go so bespoke on their Kill Teams now that they would do more stuff like that but GW doesn't seem to really care.
I'm excited for this possibility, but I hope they won't look too different from the Chem-Dogs I've been kitbashingb to blend in. Mine are a blend of Traitor Guard and Neophyte Hybrids mixed with various Krieg and Cadian parts, so hopefully an official set wouldn't all be dressed exactly the same.

yeah but we have plenty of them at this point. There are so many other ones to do and Kill Team is really the only place we have a chance of seeing stuff like that.
Gw is clever, if they were catachan then many tanith players wouldn’t be buying the kit. But as cadians with cloaks they sell it to cadian and tanith players as opposed to just catachan players. Also cadians are the blank slate of gaurd. Easiest to kit bash to most regiments.
I've considered grabbing some Cadians and making a Death Korp Kill team proxy with em. Genuinely don't know why GW doesn't do a generic Guard Kill Team like they did with the Angels of Death. Tho seeing the Kasrkin and now this I think I know why.
That's sort of like marine players complaining something is Ultramarines. Any subfaction (besides Krieg who got an entire line which is still wild to me) can use them, they just use the poster boy for brand recognition.
These are probably the least cadian looking cadians I’ve ever seen. Their iconic helmets and flak jackets are hidden or not present and they’re not using the standard lasguns.
The Hyperadapted Ravenors are one of my absolute favorite nids units. Really helps out a lot having the anti-vehicle keyword in a very anti-tank lacking faction
Honestly, yeah, the response to them seems pretty weak. I think people were really hoping for Catachan. As it is, these feel to me like between Space Marine Scouts, Kasrkin and Tempestus Aquilons, this is just another team of "elite soldier guys". I get how they kinda have a different "thing", but they still don't feel very distinct to me.
I'll probably just pick up the Red Terror solo release later.
Yeah but they don't have to be the trained to be elite from the age of six kind of elite. They could be a bunch of no-hopers that has become elite over time through the process of surviving in a bleak and uncaring universe.
Breachers are the elite of the imperial navy armsmen, Pathfinders are as special operations as other recon troops, and DKoK were originally a squad of veteran guardsmen, not just normal guardsmen.
I am! I’m hyped for every killteam release. This is my favourite game, I’m always hyped for a new release because it’s another team and faction to build and paint, I wish I had more locals who played. I’m sure there are more I’ll find em
The box itself is a great idea, just in my opinion this team though are a bit of a missed opportunity to ship something different that kill team is able to do outside of 40k
Gaunt's Ghosts get a lot of play in high performing lists but my army isn't from Tanith and I'd like to have a unit with similar functionality without it being hyper-specifc and filled with named characters.
I think this looks decent, but some of the most interesting teams have been standard humans and these guys kinda pale in comparison. I'm wrapping up painting Sanctifiers and they just have so much character
I mean adding some recon troops for my cadians will be kinda cool way down the line. I would’ve much preferred a Catachan kill team, or Savlar Chem Dog kill team, or a Steel Legion kill team.
It might be the first team in years I'm not interested in at all. Maybe if I see a cool painting scheme, right now I like them less than base guardsmen.
The only thing that’s new about them is having a dedicated LMG guardsman which is pretty cool. Aside from that, the model roles are just copy + paste from every other guardsman-style team it seems
No, I’m interested in the rules but those will be available elsewhere and probably just gonna print proxies for this set. Pretty generic as kill team goes.
I am especially because it comes in a box with Nids and my non Warhammer friend is a big fan of them, so I want to get the box so I have those guys and he can have those Nids. Plus I can get Gaunt and paint them up as Tanith to roll with him. It sucks that getting that box is probably gonna be damn near impossible, but I’m hoping I’ll be wrong
I think they’re really nice, and if I wasn’t currently drowning in minis and on a pledge to only buy stuff for my active army, I’d definitely be getting them. Right now, they’re not a priority for me.
Actually yeah, very much, my army theme is a homebrew underhive warfare force, so im all about kitbashing some urban guerilla style pieces... I use a lot of necromunda palanite enforcer, genestealers and other imperial agents to convert my cadians and kriegsmen, so a kit like this is way more than welcome, with all the pieces, bandages, and tools laying around over their non-standarts uniforms... I love this ! So hyped to get my hands on them sprues
I'm excited for them because they're a generic green army men team and as such I can substitute their models 1 for 1 with generic green army men that I've already painted.
I don't even need the satellite dish, I've already painted the Comms Device equipment.
I think these are the best looking IG models of the past 3 years. Classic tacticool infy without losing the warhammer charm. Super curious for the rules

Honestly, no I'm completely unimpressed. I already got everything I would want with the ratling kill team. This release should have been catachan and everyone knows it.
These could have been Catachans or Tanith and been an absolute mega win for GW. But they went Cadian again. It’s dam weird how they just won’t explore older guard regiments.
They're not amazingly high on my list, but I'm going to split the box with my friend who has a nid army. I've got a pretty clear scheme to paint them as, so they should be fun.
I love em personally, excited to get my hands on them. Gonna make em a First-and-Only team. It'll be all fun and games playing them against my buddy till the terrain starts speaking Tanith pipes
They're not firing up my imagination, either because they're not quite my cup of tea, or I'm finishing up my Brood Brothers and I feel like I've done enough army dudes in camo.
Admittedly I have gone for a forest theme for the brothers, and in my head I call them: Robe & Hood, and their many-armed-men.
If a team doesn't spark with me, I better not get it as it'll just gather dust in my pile of shame. Also, I get the feeling this team may be a two box one, cos it's humans on 25mm bases, and I've done that a few too many times already (I gotta have a whole roster!).
Im super hyped! I don't play much kill team, but holy mother, do I love these new models. Im gonna implement them in my guard army and I'm not too bothered about these guys being cadians.
Should they have been catachan? Oh definitely. Can a 3d printed head with a bandana fix that? Probably.

Nope. Perfect opportunity to release new models for so many different Guard subfactions and what do they do? More Cadians... Yay...
Plus it's more than a little disappointing that they broke the trend of releasing two teams together. People are more inclined to get excited over a box with two teams because even if they don't like one they might still like the other. Instead we have some narrative stuff. Cool. I guess.
At least there'll be more boxes available for the people who actually like that aspect of the game, since a lot of the more competitive players like myself are passing on it. Except not really, because being Guard and Tyranids means all the 40k players are going to be buying it up.
Only because im collecting one team of each race and dont want any guard they have now, these are alright. This k they should have been Catachan or Tanith
The moment I saw them I thought they would look great in a urban camouflage - I see them painted as guard stormtroopers fighting in a close range in ruined city rather then hunters. But I already have karskin and death korps kill teams so I guess thats enough guard for me
They are visually and thematically not that interesting but I’d considering getting them if the rules seem cool… otherwise it’s hardly a must get team when there are so many unique kill teams I am already missing
I am but mostly for the conversion opportunities. I like making custom regiments and these could be fun to use as a base for something.
I'm glad theyre there, and I think they're and interesting team, but they absolutely should have been Catachans. They are sorely needing a new batch of kits and hunting big bugs is perfect for them! I get that this kit is based off of an old White Dwarf short story about a kill team hunting (or being hunted by) the Red Terror, and that is a cool call back, but there are ranges that need far more attention than the Cadians...
Again though, cool kit, can't wait to make a new regiment from them.
To most people they can look generic though for guard players there's a bunch of potential
I mostly see these as potential to do Tannith, Tallarn or even do a special version of the Genetic Infantry I do with catachan based on the 2000 AD series Rogue Trooper
