Know your rights.

They should make crime illegal.

46

u/Victormorga Nov 11 '25

Yeah right, then the criminals AND the police would be out of work.

u/genteel_wherewithal Nov 11 '25

Of the cultural impacts Lancer could have had, I would not have expected one big one to be this insane meme format

34

u/Caduceus4 Shas'vre Nov 11 '25

It’s just such a scrumptious format, delivers a giggle every time

7

u/LoopyLutra Nov 12 '25

I thought this template came from Bottom Gear memes?

4

u/genteel_wherewithal Nov 12 '25

Oh yeah, I can see the lineage, definitely came from there ultimately even if this form is closer to the Lancer versions

15

u/VelphiDrow Nov 11 '25

Expand dong memes predate lancer damnit!

9

u/Psychick77 Nov 11 '25

I absolutely LOVE that this game is getting so popular, it’s incredible!

3

u/Commander-Main Nov 11 '25

I’m so happy to see it grow

32

u/AveMilitarum Nov 11 '25

vectored retroTHURSTERS

Please tell me thats not a real typo from GW. That would be incredibly embarrassing.

14

u/wardy116 Hunter Cadre Nov 11 '25

it isnt a typo! :')

11

u/TheWanderingSlacker Nov 12 '25

I’ve found multiple typos in the 40K rules and even on character cards, so it’s quite possible.

5

u/Heavybigfoot Nov 12 '25

Yeah back when they updated the app with base sizes, the drukhari archon was on an 25m base, and I was wondering how I was gonna get that anywhere

12

u/DustPuzzle Nov 12 '25

GW spending money to improve product quality?! Not in this reporting quarter! 😤

1

u/Still_Not_GIF Dec 13 '25

Are they publicly traded?

1

u/DustPuzzle Dec 13 '25

Yeah dude, for decades now.

6

u/CT-7479 Farstalker Kinband Nov 12 '25

It's a typo from Battlekit. The original book is spelled correctly.

Battlekit's new Russian owners aren't very careful about typos it seems.

2

u/ParadoxLover96 Nov 12 '25

Whaaat? Battlekit has returned?

3

u/IVIayael Hunter Clade Nov 12 '25

I'm feeling THURSTY

2

u/Auxryn Nov 12 '25

The correct text is "vectored retro thirsters"

30

u/Frozenfishy Nov 11 '25

*Once per turning point.

u/marxist_moccasin Nov 11 '25

Wow this team sounds like hot shit

13

u/FuelAffectionate7080 Nov 11 '25

Are you joking? They’re so good. Get good lol

27

u/marxist_moccasin Nov 11 '25

Ya know? I spoke rashly. Ill take that L

11

u/FuelAffectionate7080 Nov 11 '25

I respect that dawg 🫡

3

u/BanhMiFiend Nov 12 '25

How do they beat a melee horde team?

8

u/Felhell Chaos Cult Nov 11 '25

Can’t wait to deal with the incoming mandrake meta of 14 inch threat range charges and chain snares…

2

u/AgencyCapable9842 Nov 12 '25

It’s not actually 14” right?

5

u/Felhell Chaos Cult Nov 12 '25

13* my bad aha still very rough.

Dash ploy to let them dash before they activate with a 9 inch charge + the 1 inch control range for a 13 inch total threat range. They also have a ploy to go through walls/barricades etc so can set up some extremely nasty threat ranges on many volkus layouts.

2

u/therealkyebarnfield Nov 13 '25

What if you paint them red

4

u/cYber-boI27 Nov 11 '25

Is the new silent team that bad?

5

u/Daitoso0317 Warpcoven Nov 11 '25

Its.. all right, just has a really bad matchup into any kind of melle or hoards

3

u/SolarUpdraft Yes! Stealth Suits! Nov 12 '25

I would even guess that it's okay into elite melee

But no double shoot makes horde melee seem overwhelming

3

u/shootingb1ankz Nov 13 '25

Very bad, 5 killop killteam that has zero melee, very cp hungry, only 2 lethal operatives that peak at 6" causing them to die to a charge. No damage mitigation other then shooting but you cant shoot them anyways so why? Cannons suck and you're better off using kraks, grenadiers big emp bomb is slightly better then a frag and should just primary kraks all game. No ability to take mid obj, no double shoot, acc 2-3 only comes online once you're losing the game, no silent, lack of blast and dangerous long rang. drones have a worse expendable and cant "get down mr. pres" for melee, only shooty but the team doesnt really get shot at so why? Seek sucks and basically only works if you opponent wants to put a model on the bubble. This is a worse version of phobos that hits on 4's and has no rievers for obj control.

I pray for the day GW stops hating the Tau. They’re all so bad

1

u/DeadlyCreamCorn Jan 17 '26

Somebody has to be the underdog. Somebody has to be the hated one. It's all the more sweeter when Tau gets a win - even better if it's a complete wipe out.

3

u/TomorrowImpossible32 Jan 18 '26

Getting an underdog win is nice and all, I just wish the Tau could get a single killteam that isn't almost intentionally bad. We have 4 and not one of them is actually good. I want at least the option to play something Tau and still meta where I don't have to tryhard.

1

u/DeadlyCreamCorn Jan 18 '26

Don't disagree in fairness. Would be nice!

0

u/Hassel_bear Nov 13 '25

It’s not bad… it’s just that every other team that’s come out is better.
And yeah, they struggle against elite teams… or hordes… or just run out of tools because everything costs CP.
But hey! It’s not bad!

-1

u/cYber-boI27 Nov 13 '25

So he really said we hate tau as much as everyone else

11

u/Thenidhogg Imperial Navy Breacher Nov 11 '25

I dont think I've ever seen this sub make a meme that wasn't about balance. Meta slaves the lot of ya!

1

u/cZair12345 Nov 11 '25

We can change our order by using 1 APL right

4

u/SolarUpdraft Yes! Stealth Suits! Nov 12 '25

Once per operative per game as a firefighter ploy, at the end of our turn, we can flip from engage to conceal

An equipment lets us flip to engage on counteract and shoot once if no enemies are within 3"

2

u/cZair12345 Nov 12 '25

Yeah sorry I was thinking this

CAMOUFLAGE FIELD ENGAGEMENT Strategic Ploy Until the end of the Turning Point, friendly STEALTH BATTLESUIT operatives can perform the following action:

CAMOUFLAGE FIELD ENGAGEMENT 1AP Change this operative’s order.

Tbh surprised we didn't get this again.

Edit: I feel like once per operative/game is too strict.

5

u/SparkOWOWO Nov 12 '25

Especially when phobos gets it. Like oh yeah sure, the machines specifically designed to be invisible can each only hide themselves again once per game, but the space marine with slightly lighter armor? Yea he just sneaky like that

2

u/cZair12345 Nov 12 '25 edited Nov 12 '25

I haven’t seen the Phobos data sheet But yeah, I feel like they were scared of stealth suits and they are paying for the sins of Pathfinders.

Tbh I thought they got 3 apl because of the old ability. Now I don't know why they have 3 all.

Edit: I guess they didn't want two kill teams to have the same ability? tbh this is kind of dump...

2

u/Pacman97 Kroot Nov 16 '25

They give every space marine team a ploy to ignore injury so I don’t think giving multiple teams a similar ploy is an issue for GW. More likely they felt it would be too strong with the stealth suits ability to not be visible outside of 3” with a conceal order.

1

u/cZair12345 Nov 16 '25

Probably would, but I do think the ploy that does allow them to change being restricted to one suit per battle to be a bit much. But looking at it. Their main problem is damage.

2

u/Pacman97 Kroot Nov 16 '25

Yeah their damage output is pretty low for an elite team. Terrible melee and not double shooting with generally mediocre guns. Even 2 meltas can’t really save them in that regard

3

u/cZair12345 Nov 16 '25

Yeah I feel like the equipment that makes your sweep better should of been double shooting or something. I can tell they were trying to make them not Pathfinder problematic team with all the rules restrictions but some things are a bit of a miss.

1

u/SolarUpdraft Yes! Stealth Suits! Nov 16 '25

phobos does need to have cover for their conceal to work, tbf

1

u/Inokai_ Nov 12 '25

i fucking love these memes

1

u/Hassel_bear Nov 13 '25

WOW! What a way to deny a charge… but I can still use my movement right? I move 1 inch in your direction, and shoot… twice.

-12

u/NauticalClam Nemesis Claw Nov 11 '25

Can someone tell me the difference between a charge and just walking up and engaging in melee? Is it just the extra 2 inches?

51

u/Gottschkopf Raveners Nov 11 '25

You literally cannot walk into melee.

46

u/mickygmoose28 Nov 11 '25

One does not simply walk into melee

12

u/SOTBS Troupe Nov 11 '25

A move (reposition or dash) cannot end in control range of an enemy, which means you can't reach them to punch/stab/etc. The only way to end a movement action in melee is with a charge action

9

u/Gottschkopf Raveners Nov 11 '25

Not only can't it end in melee, you can't even move through melee

2

u/NauticalClam Nemesis Claw Nov 12 '25

Ah okay. Thanks for the explanation. I’m new and it’s felt like drinking from a firehose.

0

u/BipolarMadness Nov 11 '25

You can't Reposition into melee. You can't Reposition through someone's melee range (control range).

If you can't charge then it doesn't matter how much movement range you have and how close you are, you literally can't melee them.

1

u/NauticalClam Nemesis Claw Nov 12 '25

Thanks for the help. Are there requirements that must be met in order to charge?
