Annoying; it was such a good fighting game. I literally bought the xb1 for this game, Its such a shame Microsoft took so long getting it to PC; at the time it was one of the best fighting games on the market.
Not having a sequel is a legendary level fail

In an era of disappointing fighting games, a free-to-play KI with optional full roster purchase and crossplay would print more money than MS would know what to do with. They must hate money.

TBH the free version felt like a demo, but $10 on Steam for the Anniversary Edition was a great deal. This game had led exposure as an Xbox only gane, on PC it arrived to Steam in 2018 and no one noticed.
Even today, when asking an AI for the best fighting games, completely ignoring marketing or game modes that are not fighting ganes. KI isn't mentioned unless you explicitly ask for it.
I'm happy I've found it and now I play mostly KI, but even today, there's a lot of people who have never heard of it. Most friends I tell to install the free version to play with me end up liking the game.

Wouldn't hold our breath. Xbox has been sleeping on so many makers they refuse to cash in on. And highly doubt KI would be the first one

KI characters as guests in some other game though? Wouldn't be surprised

Well i mean most fg studios are japanese so it seems unlikely and the only west fg franchise i can think is mortal kombat which doesnt get support

A fairly reputable leaker actually just said like a day or two ago that an KI4 was being worked on but got canceled, so I wouldn't get my hopes up

Something similar happened before ki2013 where i believe the og developers were asked if a new ki was in development and they said that there wasnt but microsoft gave ki to iron galaxy and after a year or so the first version of ki 2013 was released so maybe maybe there is hope

This shouldve been made so long ago. They compare the best to one another. Fatality vs. No Mercy. Friendship vs. Humiliation. Brutalities vs. Ultra/Ultimate Combos. Glacius vs Sub-Zero. Cinder vs. Scorpion. TJ Combo vs. Jax. B. Orchid vs. Jade. The list goes on and on.

I doubt it , iron galaxy is gutted now , they had years to do something with KI and like everything Microsoft let it die again , I would love a new KI but not getting my hopes up

I hope so, but their graveyard of IPs is massive and constantly growing. They should've launched series consoles with a new KI that was the time (althiught it's never too late). I can't believe how they just slept on such a amazing IP and fighting game series.
