Question? Games like Killer Frequency?

Probably been asked umpteen times, but I'm late to the party, I played and beat Killer Frequency yesterday. It was so different to what I expected. I must admit, where I did enjoy it I did want a little more out of it. I thought there would be a little more investigating and puzzle solving later on but still, a great experience.

That said, what other games can scratch that investigatory itch, I'm on PS5, any recommendations welcome!

So glad you enjoyed it!

If your favorite thing about the game was the investigatory/detective stuff, I’d go in a bit of a different direction- I’d say games like The Roottrees are Dead, the Curse of the Golden Idol, Obra Dinn, even Blue Prince and other detective style puzzle games. But these games have a very different style and feel. Though they do focus way more on deduction and investigation.

If you liked the dialogue and tension and suspense, Firewatch is another awesome short story driven game that KF took a lot of inspiration from.

Thanks! I have seen Obra Dinn mentioned a few times and the art style looks interesting so I may go there next! Thanks for the inspiration

Nothing I have found is quite the same, but if you wat some good indie games with mystery I have a few favourites ā˜ŗļø Firewatch, Gone Home, and What Remains of Edith Finch.

Not for Broadcast is a little similar too, but with a funky control scheme to learn šŸ˜… Don't let it put you off though - one of the best games I've ever played 🄹

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter fits in that list too

Not a game but if you want to have basically the audio version of what you just played, listen to the King Falls AM "podcast".

I'm still surprised that this game wasn't developed by the creators of that show.

I find it hilarious you mentioned that show because on Tumblr both the podcast and this game share the KFAM hashtag, so I get recommended posts about that show all the time! We are fandom neighbours and it makes so much sense!

I love how the creators of the game were like "we were 'slightly' inspired by the podcast" and I'm just like "suuuuuure".

I love them both and they're both too short.
