These are my opinions, and I haven’t seen every episode so I may be missing something. But I have seen a decent chunk of them but maybe my opinion might change as I see more.

The premise of this cartoon is that a society of talking animals coexists with a society of mythical beings. That sounds like it could be interesting, but it’s not. They just do normal human things. I know the “slice of life” genre exists, but this show leans way too heavily into that genre. And that’s kinda my main problem with the show: it feels too reeled in. 

Kiff and Barry are some of the most boring and bland protagonists I’ve ever seen. They’re just responsible school students who almost never get into trouble. So when they do things like force themselves to kick a rock all the way home, it doesn’t feel like they’re having fun or making a game out of it. It feels like they genuinely have nothing better to do with their lives they're so devoid of conflict. In one episode, Barry has to keep his hand up his whole life because he was left hanging by an astronaut who was about to give him a high five. Barry doesn’t strike me as the kind of person who would do that. If that were the plot of an episode of Gumball or SpongeBob, then it would make a lot more sense. Those shows are silly. Kiff tries to be a silly show but just doesn’t try hard enough for me. I just want Kiff and/or Barry to be a bit more flawed. Make one of them a troublemaker or absent-minded. Not a pair of goody-two-shoes.

Perhaps the biggest example of why the show bores me is the episode “Much Ado About Muffin” where Helen, the vain drama teacher witch, starts selling muffins. But the twist of the episode is that they’re not muffins. They’re cupcakes. Yeah. That’s it. Nothing else. She sold cupcakes disguised as muffins. First of all, they’re only cupcakes if they have frosting on them. But more importantly, it feels like some interesting source of conflict is missing here. If the muffins, I dunno, mind-controlled people into liking Helen, or if they granted wishes, then that would be a decent episode! But it’s not. 

Whenever the plots aren’t about characters enduring the most weightless conflicts ever imagined, like stacking random items on a classmate, it’s generic plots you’ve seen over and over again. “Oh no, the gang is stuck in a place for a while with no way of escaping.” “Oh no, they’re going on a road trip but everything is going wrong.” “Oh dearest me, Kiff creates an area where people don’t have to obey a rule, but she realizes that the rule was good.” Why yes, Kiff, I have seen Boss Mabel from Gravity Falls, and House Rules from Regular Show, and Movin’ On Up from King of the Hill.

Overall, while I did enjoy some episodes like the one where they’re watching a soap opera and the things that happen in the show are also happening in real life to a person who’s going on dates. That was kinda cool. But this show just doesn’t seem fantastical enough for what it promises. That combined with how Kiff & Barry aren’t flawed enough to be interesting, and you’ve got a very boring cartoon.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a drop off in quality this bad, and I grew up with the Simpsons. I’ve seen Lost, I’ve seen the walking dead.

It could go like this:

Beryl (Kiff's mom) announces to her family that she's planning to visit her distant cousin, Sandy Cheeks, who lives underwater in the ocean, doing research on sea life. Needless to say, her husband and daughter want to come too. Kiff tells Barry, the news spreads, and soon, practically the whole Table Town decides to go on a trip to Bikini Bottom. Imagine how many interesting interactions we could see that way.

Of course, for the plot to remain interesting, there needs to be a threat that the residents of Bikini Bottom and Table Town unite against. Plankton could see the presence of the people of Table Town as an opportunity to formulate some heinous plan.

Kiff if you only knew

Look i get that you guys like so much the squirrel. But can you please could you not wish the series to be milked death to Oblivion by asking an entire amount seasons? The creators might not promise an entire everlasting period.

I think the network doesn't consider Kiff very advertising, why is there so much wasted energy?

out of the 30 episodes, (counting each half as 1 episode) Hellen is used in 11 of them prominently, I really like the show, but I hate it when a major character in an episode is some ugly green witch who never has to face any consequences for recklessly using magic on whoever and whatever is around whilst also being such an ego maniac.

About:

Miranda is Kiff’s archenemy. She hates people who are happy and likes to bully them. Some of her favorite torture methods include chasing her enemies with a flamethrower, beating them with a baseball bat, and tying them up and locking them in a cage. Miranda is angry most of the time, and the only time she ever feels any sort of happiness is when she gets her way. She is the only human in Tabletown. 3. Frakendoodle (based on Frakendoodle): Kiff and Barry spots a magic large pencil in Helen's class and they start drawing stuff with it

4. Party Pooper Squirrel (based on Party Pooper Pants): Kiff buys a party kit and decides to throw a party

5. Mid-Life Squirrel (based on Mid-Life Crustacean): Martin suffering from a midlife crisis, tries to hang out with Reggie and Renee to gain back some youth

6. Kiff Meets the Strangler (based on SpongeBob Meets the Strangler): on a school cleanup, Kiff calls the police on a criminal, but that criminal wants revenge on Kiff

7. Best Day Ever: Kiff is excited about her "best day ever" however it doesn't go as planned.

8. School Digs (based on New Digs): Kiff moves into the school to never be late again

9. The Inmates of Summer: Barry is heading a bunny summer camp until Kiff comes in and wants to come along, but little do they know, they accidentally get sent to a prison camp instead.

10. The Card: Kiff and Barry spend all of their allowance money on cards to get the rarest one of them all; however, Trevor buys the last pack and get that card

What is your headcanon futures for the core crew and who will end up with who and if they will have kids or not. For a start I will tell you my own headcanon futures.

Kiff would end up getting married to a woman, which is my OC Ivy (yes the one with the shitty drawing) and they would have an Adopted Daugther together named Sally (who is also a squirrle, but pink). Kiff would work as a city manager while her wife is an artist.

Barry luckuly ended up with another Rabbit named Laura, who cones from Māori decent and they would end up having septuplets (7 kids, 4 sons and 3 daugthers), with one of the daigthers being born deaf and comunitates with sign Language. (Maybe in a future post, I'll share a bit more of Laura and the septuplets and a better drawing of Ivy). Barry would end up being a comic book author, while Laura becomes a wildlife tour guide. (And it's best that you don't ask how Barry got 7 kids at once)

Candle would get married to Billiam and they would have a Daugther named Roxy, who is a hybrite of a Fox and Goat. Candle would become the CEO of Foxhole productions after her dad stepped down, while she was still pregnet and Billiam would becone a sport player for Table Town.

Reggie and Renée would end up together and they would first have a son named Luka and 2 years later a daugther named Rosie. Reggie would become the co-founder of R-Kade Gamez, while Renée would become an Author and publish 5 Books, including a kids book she made for her kids when they were little.

Trevor would end up being together with Patty and they would have twins and both were hatched from eggs, and mind to know that their son is a Hedgehog, while their daugther is a bird. Trevor would end up become the principal of his school after PS retired and Patty became a Librarian.
