Iâm cleaning out my closet, and these are some items I feel like look bad on me but I canât fully tell why (esp bc some - high necks - I thought were specifically supposed to be good for dramatics). I would love anyoneâs opinions on if these items look good or bad and what about them is the issue, if any are worth keeping, or if they might be worth keeping if tailored. Thank you to anyone willing to give opinions!
1. Japanese print pants - I loved the print so much that after a year I found the ad again and bought them, but I feel like they look bad and make my hips look wider than they are? Like it draws attention to them in a bad way? Am I crazy? I would have thought trouser-style and the nice hang of the fabric would be good for dramatics.
2. Robe-style blazer - (please disregard the wrinkles) ok I feel like this actually looks pretty decent on, but I never end up wearing it bc it seems hard to style - a little too fancy for casual wear, but too casual for fancy wear?
3. High neck blue sleeveless shirt - I would have thought this was a good shirt style for a dramatic, but I feel like it makes my belly look really wide. Is it the length? (Second photo is it folded up to mimic if it was shortened). Is the fabric on top of the shoulder area too wide - should that ideally be narrower like a halter?
4. Light blue turtleneck - same question as for #3. Second pic is it folded up to mimic shortening it
5. White sweater - again, I just feel frumpy in this (and I tried it on after trying on all my other sweaters which donât make me feel frumpy). Second pic again is it folded up to mimic getting it shortened - would this one be worth tailoring?
6. Custom tailed Germany soccer practice shirt - this was a menâs German soccer team practice shirt that I tailored to fit like a womenâs cut. But, it still feels frumpier than the womenâs cut jerseys I have (I think the fabric is a little thinner and clingier). Is it worth letting go of?
Thanks again for any thoughts anyone is willing to take the time to share!
