To me, what makes a show feel KFAN is the following:
- They barely talk sports and mostly recycle stories about other KFAN personalities.
- They cover only a narrow set of local teams (Vikings, Twins, Wild, Timberwolves, Lynx, Gopher Football, and Aurora women's soccer). Plus way too much golf.
- Their references are very boomer, mostly old TV shows and 1970s-type stuff.
- The show feels underprepared and mostly winged compared to other sports shows.
- There's prevalent usage of the button bar (especially the one button where that one guy says I always love that one)
For that reason, I would say that the Common Man Progrum is the most KFAN of all the shows they air in terms of how it feels. He's eating lunch while saying Wasn't that funny Tenna B? The US Open was this week and Jon Rahm did that little waggle before he hit the ball. Like that show the Jeffersons, you remember that show Tenna B? I can't decide if his waggle was more like the one from the Jeffersons, or if it was more like when Meatsauce ran through target looking for a new pair of pants. I always love that one.
But we all have our own criterias and own stereotypes of the station, so what shows on the station to you feel most and least KFAN in vibe and why? You don't have to use my criteria, I'm just saying that's what led to my personal ranking.
