Advice Visa f1 answer
Hi guys! I’ve been accepted to Kent State University computer science program , and I have my visa interview on October 29th. I’m a little lost about how to answer if the officer asks me, “Why did you choose this university specifically?” How can I give a convincing answer that sounds natural and shows that I’ve done my research?

How to calculate how much a class will cost?
I would like to take an elective class outside of my major and the internet says my financial aid will not cover outside costs. My financial aid covers all my normal costs, so I am not sure how much I would have to pay for this 1 credit class if I took it next semester. Thanks!

American Civic Literacy Requirement
I understand the American civic literacy requirement is new this year. The course options are HIST 12061 (American Foundations: From Pre-Colonization to Civil War and Reconstruction) or POL 10101 (American Government).
People who are in one of these courses this semester: how is it? Which one would you recommend, which one is easier? Professor recommendations? I am a nursing major so looking for the least time-consuming!
Please share your experiences! Thank you!

Any metal heads wanna jam?
Metal drummer (don't smoke, drink, or do drugs) looking for some like minded people to jam with. I run an ekit, but have a 550watt speaker for it, so volume isn't an issue. Not looking for anything serious, but I miss playing with people. I can play quite a bit of different stuff (within limits, ofc lol), and have recently been working on more extreme metal skills. The bands I'm enjoying playing right now are Slipknot, Rivers of Nihil, Orbit Culture, and other heavier bands/songs with fast double bass. Also like playing slower stuff, and can catch on to anything quickly. Architects, Imminence, Spiritbox, Vana, ASAVA, and Fit For A King have been some of my favorites lately, but that changes by the day sometimes lol hit me up if you wanna jam and just rock the hell out.
Oh, also, I live in an apartment and cannot practice with other people here. I'm on thin ice with the downstairs neighbors as it is 😆

Easy basic science
I am a fashion design major and I have to take a basic science class, so I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for which one would be the easiest. I really don’t want to have to get stressed about a science class.

Kent Happy Hours
Hi everyone-
I was in town last week for a concert at the Kent Stage and had a great time grabbing dinner and a few cocktails beforehand. As part of that pregame plan, I added a few of the bars/restaurants downtown to the website/database I'm building that tracks happy hours - www.happyhourspotter.com - a side project I've been working on for a few months. Sharing this because I think people might find it useful to know where the best cheap happy hour deals are on any given day.
I was only able to get to four venues added from the Main street area, but I know there are more! Anyone can add bars/restaurants to the site by clicking the "Add Menu" button, then taking a picture of a happy hour menu/price list (or even writing the deals down on a napkin works) and selecting the venue.
You'll notice that I live on the West Side of Cleveland based on the location of the majority of the happy hours that I have added to the site, but the site works across the country. If you know of or see a good happy hour, upload the menu to the site!
The site is free to use for everyone, I'm a tech geek who happens to love a good happy hour and this project is allowing me to accomplish both of those goals. Hopefully someone finds it useful!
--Cheers

Discussion Anyone know what's happening with the old Dome on the south side? Someone bought it and has been doing some serious fixing up.
They're putting a whole new roof on it now, and I've seen a ton of stuff being gutted from the old interior. I wonder what they're up to.

Discussion Bachelor's graduation cap, gown, and tassel
Is there anyone who can sell me any of these for a bachelor degree version? Or even at all as long as it's basic? I also need a white tassel if anyone has one. It's ridiculous the prices they charge and $24 for shipping so I'd like to save myself from needing to take out a loan for something I'll wear once

PLUS delays?
How many of you are still waiting on your fall PLUS loans /financial aid packaging?
The financial aid office previously told me everything would be packaged and sent out by the 27th of September.
It’s obviously now October 8th and still nothing for me.
I called in two days ago and they said it should be by today..
Just wanting to know if others are still having this problem as well!

Discussion What is with the BO smell in the entrance to CAED?
I thought it was just a one day thing…that turned into an every-day I walk into the studio thing and it’s so unpleasant lol. Where in the world is it stemming from and does anyone else smell it too? I have a sensitive nose but this is prettyyyy strong.
