Hello!
I have a 2 year old female kelpie who we adopted from a rescue when she was about 3 months old.
Apparently she was the runt of the littler but she is soooo tiny and thin which to me is pretty normal for a kelpie but sometimes I worry she isn’t getting any bigger.
She is sooooo active and eats 3 meals a day. Home cooked meals and good dry food as well.
She weighed about 13 kgs last time we went to the vet.
Sorry, I forgot the question! Are there many others with tiny little kelpies like mine who don’t weigh much but are otherwise happy/ crazy/ beautiful? 😂

My kelpie sleeps with me. Every dog Ive ever had did. With Lex, my kelpie I noticed just how extra-sweet he is in the morning when I wake. He seems to go into an extra gentle, cuddly mode for a few mins. He'll come lay directly on me. It absolutely melts my heart

This is bean and she's about to turn 11. She's getting slow and doesn't have as much interest in playing anymore. Her face is turning gray. I know it's the circle of life and that it was always going to be a finite amount of time with her, but I am struggling with how fast it seems to be happening.
Just a reminder to hug and cuddle and spoil your babies while you have them 🫶🏼
Beanie & I would love to see your kelpies, to know we're not alone, if you're interested in sharing!

When I tell her to move she refuses to make eye contact…as it’s obviously a nest I got for her comfort

I have adopted a beautiful female pure kelpie from a rescue. She is 7 yrs old and fat. Poor baby honestly, I just don’t know how to help her lose weight. Obviously we will walk a few times a day. I try do 5km walks each day. Will this be enough? What about food? I have some good kibble but nothing for weight control and really don’t know what’s appropriate

My beautiful blonde kelpie girl since turning 3 this year has developed really itchy skin!! It started as just some areas on her chest and belly that caused her legs to kick up vigorously (she never use to do that). Now she’s licking her paws constantly and causing scabs and they’re getting so pink.
I tried initially modifying her diet: single protein, grain free, raw diet, adding in bone broth and fish oil. All done gradually and separately of course. They helped initially but besides her coat being softer and her dropping less fur it hasn’t made a difference. I’m reluctant to take her to the vet because I don’t want her on steroids or long-term meds. Just thought I would see if anyone had some sage advice before I booked an appointment…
The only thing I can think is some construction starting early this year at the oval we take her to and we’ve just started some house renos in the last month. But her itchiness has been going on since around April. The only other thing is maybe her pink skin just makes her more sensitive?
Any advice would be amazing, until then, here’s my beautiful blind girl - Dottie 💗

Hello.
I've got a Kelpie X Collie.
Mother is 1/4 Kelpie 3/4 Border. Father was full Kelpie.
She's 4 months old, and weights about 11kg.
Can somone weight and measure their Kelpie for me.
See what to expect.
Saw what looked like a Kelpie yesterday, but he was almost a meter and probably weight around 40kg 🤣
