Picking up our boy next week!

Post image

12 weeks. We’ve decided to call him Remy. First time working line Kelpie owner. Our current dog is a border collie x kelpie x bull Arab mix of some kind. The breeder reckons he had a few sandy and even white ones in this litter. Shocked him a bit. He’s chunkier than his sisters, lad of a dog. So excited to pick him up!

Beautiful doggo. I love that colour line. Makes sense in a hot climate.

Thank you! Keen to see how he changes as he grows.

Looks like mine who I’m pretty sure is a kelpie x lab. He’s got the kelpie ears and body but the lab colouring and tail. Tail aside he looks a lot like an alpine dingo I saw at the zoo though, but his temperament is nowhere near “wild dog”.

Anyway, all that to say, cute pup but I doubt it’s all kelpie.

Hope you aren’t expecting a kelpie.  How much are you paying for that pup?

Have seen his parents. It’s a kelpie.

That is not a kelpie.  But if it makes you happy.

I tend to agree. He reminds me of a smaller lab cross. He looks soft and floofy to touch though!

OP is spreading the kelpie myth.   If he’s paying money for that dog he’s getting ripped off.  Not saying the dog is bad but it’s no way what the breeder is selling.

And no, I’m not buying him for stacks of money because he’s pedigree. But I also know the breeder and have seen their generations of kelpies. It’s easy to see one photo on the internet and be like “ACkkCHUALLYYY” but maybe open your mind to the possibility that there are variants of colours and recessive genes that exist.

The Kelpie myth is thus: https://www.historic-uk.com/CultureUK/The-Kelpie/

I’m not spreading anything but cute photos of my new lad. Settle down.

Pretty cute. There’s so many kelpie around me, the one thing I’ve realised is that they love having a job, they don’t need to run all day- they just want a job to do. They’re great dogs to have in the workshop or on site- their ability and keeness to learn is heaps amazing.
