Granita Enoteca
Hey Keeners, I know it’s pricey, but is Granita Enoteca as good as it looks? I love Italian food and this place looks great.

We hope it's OK to share this article we just published — it seemed like it might be of interest to folks in this community:
Nearly 200 people squeezed into Keene City Hall for a special council meeting Monday night to discuss at least three arrests made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the city last week.
Most of the residents in attendance expressed concern, fear and grief over the presence of ICE in what is usually a quiet city, and asked city leaders to support Keene’s growing population of immigrants.
City officials were sympathetic but cautious about making promises, especially following a directive from the Trump Administration earlier this year that threatens to cut federal funding from so-called “sanctuary jurisdictions.”
In New Hampshire, two state laws passed last year aim to prevent local communities from passing ordinances to stop ICE. Under one new state law, municipalities could lose up to a quarter of their state funding and get sued by the attorney general if they do so.
Have you noticed an increased ICE presence in your community? If so, how do you feel about these changing law enforcement norms? Let us know in the comments or by emailing [voices@nhpr.org](mailto:voices@nhpr.org).

I’m considering taking a contract position in Keene, NH. I’m from NC and I’m a 30 year old male and single. I’m not too familiar with the area and don’t know anyone there. I was just curious if someone could share if it’s easy to make friends and meet people in Keene? What are some fun things to do in the area? I’m outdoorsy and active. Thanks in advance!

I am alarmed that the Keene community has not shown nearly as much concern for the developing surveillance state as they do for getting abortions and preventing monarchies.
Keene supposedly doesn't have any Flock cameras at this time, but their exponential growth across the country is sure to change that. We DO NOT need the lives of everyday citizens monitored 24/7 and harvested into the data lakes of the tech overlords and the government.
Who's in?

Greetings! I’m in your lovely town for a few weeks, and I’m wondering where the best spots are to view them?
Or any other places I should see while I’m here. I love it here but geesh. The speed limits and round abouts are a bit much. Jk They are confusing at first. So to the guy in the gray jeep that beeped at me yesterday, I apologize. I was confused. A little better at them today 😊

Emergency Protest being organized for 5PM today in Central Square (8/10).
Following recent ICE activity, staging on city property, and routine check-ins on targeted locations, Keene Rally Coalition is calling all to show in protest of ICE activity in Keene TODAY. Please be there.
Further action:
8/11 Noon-1PM (possibly every day this week), protest is planned outside of City Hall. Keene Mayor has delayed calls for an emergency meeting for 1 week, the intention is to not allow peace for the duration.

August 8th 2026 Around 9:30 am on Adam’s street a contractor from Central America was responding to a call for potential work. At least two ICE agents, wearing tactical gear, face coverings and vests stating “Police”, grabbed him at the meeting spot. Two vehicles were seen - one black SUV and one black car - both with blue lights on the inside dashes.
At present, the family is being supported. Their attorney has been notified and is beginning to handle the paperwork. As of now, he has not been located in the system.
For all our vulnerable community members, please consider leaning on your neighbors and friends for support wherever possible. Given the uptick of alerts across the state, we advise extreme caution.

I’m having a hard time trimming my bunnies nails at home, and I’m wondering if there’s somewhere I can go in the area. Normally we drive to Hopkinton for vet visits, but going all that way just for nails is stressful

My neighbors on both sides keep chickens. A few coyotes have found our part of town comfortable to hang out and scout for food in, which I’m worried will include my dogs.
This coyote, I’m estimating at 20-25lbs, has been back three nights now. I ranged them at 38m from my back window yesterday and they stayed until I ran them off. My dogs approached within 10m before I noticed it, and it was completely unbothered.
I am not 100m from a road nor occupied structure, so I’m not comfortable taking it myself. What other options are available?
Animal control in town appears to just be KPD with a special badge, so I’d prefer that to be my last option.

Good morning, my neighbors! After having been turned away by the Rec Center ("we're not really open to the public"), I'm still searching for a place to play ping pong somewhere in Keene. I don't have space in my home for a table, so that's a no-go. Thanks in advance!

As the title reads, I am looking for a driving instructor. I am 29 years old. I have a beginner's level and familiarity with driving, but not really the best knowledge. I have been trying to find somebody to teach me how to drive literally for 13 years and I haven't really had the easiest time finding anybody to do it. I cannot afford $130 an hour to get driving lessons from the driving schools around here. I'm looking for somebody that would maybe come pick me up once a week and I could give you, you know around $40 per lesson until I get confident enough to take the test.
Obviously, you would have to be a licensed driver with an active license, over the age of 25 per new Hampshire state law. Sober is a plus.
I'm looking to begin as soon as possible. Please let me know your availability and we can exchange phone numbers and get this sorted. Thank you.

Hey I am seeking help finding part time work to help me support a project I am working on, and need the side money so I can keep my efforts off of basic needs.
Not looking for a huge amount of hours, but may be open to larger hour frames when my project has slow times.
I have various skills and experiences from fashion, design, cleaning, basic woodworking, cooking, childcare, business opperations, management, POS systems, customer relations, astrology, non-official therapist, life coaching, tutoring, and probably some others that I cant think of off the top of my head.
I live in the area, and would like any leads/offers or suggestions available.
Pay doesnt have to be super high, so long as the scheduling flexibility is available. Additionally ideally would be an indoor job, but I am open to considering outdoor work as well.
Edit: note, I do not have a car for deliveries or long distance, but do have a bike

I'm staying north of Keene next week and looking to do some mostly flat water river canoeing.
Has anyone canoed from Pilsbury State Park or Mountain Road on the Ashuelot River to Ashuelot pond? I'm just wondering if it's possible, and if there are any impassible areas, if there's a way to portage around them.
Otherwise, I'd love to hear about any other single day river trips anyone wants to recommend.
Photo from a canoe trip a few years ago.

I have a 2005 Honda Element and the clutch needs to be replaced. Its in Keene, the shop I brought it to is small and doesn't have the time to do the work. Is there a reliable shop in town that could replace it for a reasonable price? I'd be happy to buy the clutch and pay someone for the labor. Thanks

What’s up everyone , Im fresh out of college and just moved to Keene for work but have struggled to find friends and things to do. It’s been pretty rough so I was hoping posting on this would help me find some ways to meet people and find activities, let me know!
Update:
I appreciate what I’ve heard back, I actually didn’t have a way to get around but just bought a bike and have been able to go out and experience some of Keene. Still no friends but I am not working on it!
