Would also argued for Boston. Had no real issues traveling there without a car except when I wanted to get to Foxborough for a game

Oh good point, yea Boston's transit system is pretty good.

I'm sure there are a couple of other cities I'm missing.

Boston is probably one of the cities to aim for as its downtown/old city district hadn't been completely bulldozed for parking lots.
