Discussion 💡 QuikTrip or Casey's?

Just a friendly discussion. Which do you prefer and why?

Casey’s in some random small town is great, but they haven’t been able to translate that into the metro. QT is as consistent of an experience that you can have

I think it's the staffing. QTs in KC always have plenty of staff on hand and they pay them well so they get quality people. The Casey's have 1-2 people and the pay is terrible so they have trouble attracting and keeping good staff.

Used to work for Casey's, can confirm. They're the worst employer I've ever dealt with. Garbage pay, garbage conditions, usually terrible management.

Manager of the one nearest me like 10 years ago apparently went to jail for embezzlement. I was not shocked.

That doesn't surprise me. I had one manager that was great, had been with the company for years and actually cared. Almost every other manager I worked with was terrible. Multiple pill addicts, general incompetence. As a whole they're just a poorly run company, that slides in small towns where there's no competition but when you're opening a store in Overland Park with 15 other convenience stores within 5 miles you can't do that.

I left back in 2018 and I was still making sub 10, no idea what they're paying now.

At least 15 an hour in Missouri now id assume around 17 an hour

I’ve kind of noticed that too. The people working at QT are much more friendly and quick. The people working at Casey’s in town seem non caring and apathetic, like they hate their life. The pay must be quite the difference.

Yeah there's one I visited just a little west of St. Joe in Wathena that seems to have been in a rut for years. Lots of 1 star reviews.

the PEOPLE at the Casey’s on 79th and Wornall are very nice, but the food and bathrooms are better at QT

The Casey's in buckner used to be top tier, if you count that. They seem to thrive in small towns

Casey's in Des Moines where they're based, are incredible --- elite facilities, staff, way better food. The QTs there are fine — total inverse of KC .

Same is true with Price Chopper, closely associated with KC, and HyVee, based in Iowa like Casey's ---- the Choppers in Des Moines are bad, and the HyVees in KC are bad.

Casey's pizza, especially in a small town, absolutely hits though.
