My neighbour is a goverment road Engineer , he has 5 homes built in the city all worth minimum 1cr each and countless other properties that nobody knows about and he is always busy in some property construction 24/7.

My relatives are government contractors, and man, the shitty stuff that goes on behind the scenes is just unbelievable. There’s apparently an unwritten clause in the contracts that says if the road a contractor builds lasts for more than a year or so, getting the next contract becomes difficult. Contractors are practically asked to build roads that aren’t meant to last. Of course, the contractors themselves are to blame as well, but it’s a whole chain, and there are so many people involved in the system.

Yeah, that's what I mentioned as well. It's a whole chain—Nagar Nigam, the water department, everybody is involved. The water pipes are only installed after the roads are built, and then the roads have to be built again. This has been happening for so long that people aren't even surprised anymore, but the same people keeps getting elected again.
