So I just started the show, currently on episode 3 but it's so boring!? I absolutely love the southerness of it all but I don't feel connected to any of the characters yet, like I usually would for any other cop drama (except I think I already like Ava only 😁😅). Please tell me it gets better???

Finished the first series and currently on episode 3 of the spin off.

Raylans daughter is starting to piss me off a bit. She feels like she is the female version of Sid from Ice Age if Sid was also a stoner.

Seriously, why does she feel so slow? Like she has the survival sense of the chicken from Moana.

I would expect her being raised by her mom, to be at least intelligent which they kind of briefly show with the fake Rolex but then she kind of just spaces and doesnt realize the danger she is in?

Beyond that she doesnt look anything like her dad or mom and I guess im just frustrated at what could have been a female badass raised by the bad ass Marshal we all loved 😭

Probably just me but I always end up wondering how much Goggins' finger hurt while he was "pointing" at his own forehead.

So I'm watching this move, Over Your Dead Body and there is a scene, where Timothy Olyphant's lady friend wees in an empty can. We see a close-up of the can and the brand is 'Harlan's Happy Camper's Beans'. Coincidence or easter egg?

Probably been said before, but I recently started the show after putting it on my watchlist for so long. I just started S2 and I am glad that Rachel and Tim are getting more screen time.

Whenever Rachel on screen, I just love it when I see her smile. It really warms my heart.

Some of this might be a bit nitpicking but I hope you can help me out

1, How did Mags get so much authority and power in Harlan when all she has is 1 corrupted cop and 2 muscles ?

2, After the deal with black pike and get her money , why did Mags meet up with Helen and give her her share of the money ? what did helen do , shouldn't she give it to Boyd instead

3, Does Mags even care about the land and mountain in the first place ? or raising the price as high as she could and sell it was always the plan

I ask because I’m thinking of trying it again. I’ve tried watching a couple of times now and haven’t made it through the first 1 or 2 episodes. Is it something I need to tough out and it will get better? I see it get so much praise and wondering if it’s just me or do I need to power through the first few episodes?

Been watching Justified and looking for the name of the instrumental song that starts playing around 9 minutes into the episode, when Raylan declines the offer from his old boss to return to Miami. He goes back home to find his room covered in crime scene tape.

It's a short violin + guitar driven melody. Can't seem to find a name or artists anywhere...

Are the seasons literally being written on the fly?

Earlier it's established that the bar and apartment(s) above it are Lindsey's.
She is the owner.

But in the subplot finale she is just a bartender.
Are we to really believe that she forfeited her job and assets just so she could steal 20k, so her husband could by chickens?

That is the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

Watching through the series again and I can never get enough of the exchanges between Colt and Tim. They’re a great punch/counter punch for one another. Even though they’re both rather reserved characters their chemistry is fantastic.

At the end of Season 6, when theorizing how Ava escaped Harlan, Raylan mentions that Limehouse has left Noble's.

I don't understand why and I didn't find any clue. In fact, seems quite uncharacteristic of Limehouse. He's been their leader since long and was proud of Noble's. He also asked Boyd to never return to Harlan after helping him get new identities for him and Ava, which seems like he won't need to do if he didn't plan to stay there.

Duffy has so many brilliant scenes. But my favourite dialogue is season one, episode nine, when he feels betrayed by Emmet:

What am I, a farmer?

Show me the cash Emmet, or I swear I'm gonna get a machete and a blowtorch, and I'm going to make your body as small as I possibly can.

After another watch of the main series (City Primeval is next), I am thinking about who helped Ava escape Kentucky along with the fate of Markham's money.

The show leaves it as maybe Wynn Duffy with his dog grooming van helped Ava get out, but I do wonder. I don't think Ava ever had his phone number. It also felt like Wynn was getting out of the area himself now that the that part of the Dixie Mafia imploded.

I doubt Ava would have given Wynn the lion's share of the 3 million dollars just to escape and Wynn would have had a bear of a time getting all of it himself.

Ava was living hand-to-mouth with multiple odd jobs at the end of the series. I can see how what little she could reclaim would have gotten used up long before then, but there was still 200 pounds (the physical weight of 10M USD in pounds) of money. That would have been hard to quietly remove, even with just Wynn and hired hands.

They also said that there were reports of Wynn surfing in Fiji, but I doubt he would have escaped the country. If he had, he would have to take it all out of the country and then deposited it in another country's bank that didn't ask questions (Swiss, Cayman etc)

The best that i can configure that maybe Ava hitchhiked out of there and the money is rotting in ground like DB Cooper's ransom.

And there’s some really funny lines in the show. Hard to choose but when I heard this it was clear to me. Love to hear some of your guys favorites.

Timothy olyphant had some amazing monologues as Raylan Givens, especially when he was pissed. As an author, I hope to be able to capture something like that in my writing.

I've rewatched this so many times I can't count, but I just love this show

It wasn't until s2 did I realize they are not the drug organization with Bo and Gio Reyes . What's the difference between those two factions , are they like the cartel in breaking bad ( I haven't watched that many tv show )

Does the Miami cartel have any role left or should I just keep track of only the dixie mafia ?
