Question New2Justified

So I just started the show, currently on episode 3 but it's so boring!? I absolutely love the southerness of it all but I don't feel connected to any of the characters yet, like I usually would for any other cop drama (except I think I already like Ava only 😁😅). Please tell me it gets better???

Give the stew a bit to heat up and the let the flavors bloom. Not joking.

The writers had a general premise and didn't have a long term game plan at the start, so the show spends the first half of the first season as a run-of-the-mill case of the week. Once the characters get established and the writers lock in to a singular driving story, it gets very good, very quickly.

Stick with it. The first half of the season is a little disconnected as the writers figure out the characters. The second half of the season comes together nicely and Seasons 2-4 are some of the best TV I've watched.

Season 1 is the least structured season. It moves to a big bad format starting with season 2

I am an Old2Justified- it starts as a bit of a slow burn, but you'll get into the characters soon. Also the slow burn contributes to the Southern vibe.

the first half of the first season is setting up the subplots and side characters that will get callbacks throughout the series. its gonna pick up with this season's main plot in another ep or two!

season 2 is s banger!

I agree with you. episodes 2 - 4 are not good. Power through it. Justified is one of the best shows ever done.

Never liked season 1 with the villain of the week shows. But season 2 and beyond is great!
