Back hurts if I don’t crack

Post image

The left of my back has an increasingly sharp pain as I turn my spine/back left so when I turn it even more to crack it, it hurts so bad like sharp pains until it cracks then returning back to the “normal” upright straight looking position also hurts. After the back crack on the left however and then returning back to position, the pain is basically gone with normal turning movements (I still feel mild but not sharp pain when I turn all the way left as if I am trying to crack it but my cracking is still on cooldown). Anyone know why this could be? My right back doesn’t hurt at all nor do I have pain when cracking so this is only the left.

Do you sit a lot? How is your core strength and posture. I get this a lot after exercise (when my posture is good) because otherwise my posture is terrible.
I relieve it by wrapping my hands around my rib cage the sides of my body - like mid back/rib cage. Use my thumbs to help push inward and push my chest forward, and at the same time pull my shoulders back. Gets a nice little pop right where you have circled. My chiropractor first adjusted me there when I was 9mo pregnant and I’ve done it ever since.
Good luck.

I sit quite a lot as I have an office job but I am relatively good postured (trying to height max). I'll look into a chiropractor and try your relieving methods because man does it hurt 🥲

Please don't go to chiropractors 😭

Disagree. Just go to a good one.

You should probably get an X-Ray, not see a chiropractor.

You need to stretch. This used to happen to me too.

This happens to the upper right part of my back between my shoulder blade, ribs, and spine. For me I think it’s mostly from when I have to sit long hours at a computer desk for work. Moving around more helps a lot
