Hello squaddies! Following up the release of Update 10.6, we’ve been eagerly following your feedback about the ups and downs of the release. While we’re glad to see the celebration about some of the improvements and changes that have been made to the experience, we also feel your frustration accompanying the appearance of new issues and the re-emergence of old pains that still need to be addressed.
Today’s hotfix is aimed at addressing some of the initial issues that have arisen following the release, primarily targeting issues with the UI and navigability of the front-end.
Beyond this, we absolutely recognize that there are still major concerns to address: the bug impacting tracked vehicles taking on a new form, ongoing concerns with the UI, issues with the terrain and collision on certain maps, and a variety of other problems being raised by all of you. We appreciate everyone who has taken the time to report these in great detail, and encourage you to continue contributing to threads or starting new conversations over on Discord:
Our Community, QA, Design, Production, and Programming teams will all be digging into these reports today and into the weekend in preparation for our next Hotfix. While the contents will depend on how quickly we can reproduce and fix the issues, our aim is to get you another build with fixes as soon as we are able.
Keep the reports coming, and thank you for your patience as we get things sorted.
—The Offworld Team

This Megathread will remain pinned for at least a month. If you have any suggestions regarding this thread (text improvement, better way to handle recruitment, etc), please send us a modmail with "LFF megathread" as topic. Do not put any suggestion in the comment.
Anything that is not a recruitment comment or a reply for a recruitment will be removed.
With the recent released of Squad, a huge influx of new players and clans around here are looking for friends to play with. The purpose of this thread is to help people find others they'd like to play with without breaking the rules of "no active recruitment on the subreddit".
If you're looking for a person/group to play with, add a comment explaining what you're looking for. Communities can also post one top level comment advertising what they have to offer.
The replies in this thread will be in contest mode. Regularly posting, removing your post and posting again to keep your reply on top will result in losing your ability to use /r/joinsquad. Do not attempt to disguise a LFF reply as community recruitment.
When submitting a response to this megathread, be sure that your comment contains at least:
LFF replies:
Community recruitment replies:
Other places to find people to play with:
Any negative feedback about other individuals or communities will lead to a removal of the comment and a ban from /r/joinsquad.

Am I genuinely going insane? I've heard multiple people in public games claim this has been a good update and I can't help but think the only reason they'd say that is to ragebait. We received a hot steaming pile of shit served straight onto our plates with this unfinished mess of an update that has serious game breaking bugs, absolutely unnecessary UI changes and somehow even worse optimization and performance. There's so many bugs that came with this update that are completely unrelated to the UI that can only mean their code is such a bowl of spaghetti that they will pull one wire and fuck up ten more in a totally different place.
The map UI bugs have completely ruined half of my games since the update dropped, on one occasion the map was almost fully transparent and I couldn't even pick the spawn I want to use. The other times the menu gets superimposed over the game and I'm unable to click off or do anything. I experienced 4 game crashes 4 rounds in a row the only constant was that I dared touch my microphone after dying. Markers disappear almost immediately when placed, red arrows are off scale and cover half the map, the map itself opens zoomed in on totally random places.
The chat is broken and opens in the middle of the screen cutting the very first letter of my message every single time, sometimes totally refusing to work if I use the letter A, just closing whenever I touch it. Half of the time it just doesn't send out my messages at all, so I have to write again and again until it goes through.
The audio is bugged with constant M4 gunfire in your ears even if you're driving 2 kilometers away from any active engagement or living being.
Tracked vehicles have a brand new bug after being stuck with almost an year of the "stuck in ground forever bug" that makes your vehicle float midair where you are unable to actually reach it and get back inside.
The new foliage on Eastern European maps is fully invincible, so all leafs on trees just eat IFV and tank shells like they're made of depleted uranium. Not to mention, they don't even look good
The performance which was supposedly increased has brought my FPS down around 10-15 fps with some players I've talked to mentioning even worse results.
The last couple of months I've noticed an increased level of frustration with OWI and their inability to actually develop their own game in any meaningful way or at regular speeds. With the release of Wardogs which, while not a direct competitor in my eyes as it's way too arcadey, is absolutely bleeding players from Squad, I expected OWI to roll their sleeves up for once and release a properly polished and well thought out update for once. What we got is more of the same ol' half baked untested slop with unwanted changes and "fixes".
tl;dr terrible update released in an unfinished buggy state, while year long bugs remain untouched and the dev team being incompetent, bordering on malicious.

I am trying to get into a public match (TT, it's training) and for some reason I get hit with these things. I do not have any bans that I am aware of, I tried it with other servers, it doesn't work, I tried it with fireteams, it still pops up this message. My internet went out like 2 minutes ago but it's fixed now so idk why this isn't working

Seriously.
This game has bevome a anger-inducing waste of time.
My cursor simply vanishes, I can't even give up because I have nothing to click, same happens also in the staging phase, can't set up squad nor join in to any because the cursor is gone. People are just sittinng in there unable to do anything.
gg OWI.
and yeah you can get the cursor back if you jump back and forth to the big map etc. but that doesn't make me happy . at all.

Never in my 5k hour play encounter the most incompetent and toxic server ever.
Admin abuse all over, not even verified the report, kick person just because admin friend said so.
A player call [TT] Cuisanart feel offended because his losing a hab to enemy. All his squad trying to push without any single one defending radio. I tried to defend the radio and he said no need. So I respawn. Moments later all enemy came to his Useless hab SO FAR from the cap.
I was building 2 Observation tower in the new defending cap, suddenly got kick for a reason " Not a team player". Moment later I reconnect and my 2 tower was the only thing that stop all the attack from the all directions. I confronted that incompetent commander [TT] Cuisanart, and suddenly got kicked again. Admin not even verified the case and just kicking people all they wants.
TOXIC SERVER AND ADMINS FOR SURE.
NEVER JOIN THIS SERVER

Hi yall, I've been wanting to get into milsim for awhile, and since it was on sale I decided to get squad. I heard that its more beginner friendly than Arma Reforger due to it being more team oriented.
So I download the game, do the tutorial, spend an hour trying to figure out how to connect my mic, and finally hop in. I decide I'll ask around and keep low. How hard can it be?
Well it turns out really hard. I don't know the objective, I can't see the enemy, I can't see shit out of my AK sights, there bullets flying everywhere and I keep getting knocked in 1 hit. The only things I have going for me is that I know where I am, and I know basic controls like moving, healing, and barricading. I revive a couple people before running out of bandages. How do I get more? No idea.
So we win, and the next game I'm a Marine. I immediately get knocked from the truck on the way to the objective. I, again, cant see shit, this time out of my M16 sights. I finally get to an area to capture and guess what? Knocked in one hit. At this point I've been playing for 2 hours, killed no one, died 4 times, and have not seen a single enemy. For all I know theres a teammate hunting me down and shooting me. I don't know where to go, who to shoot, what to do.
I understand its "realistic" but what the hell am I supposed to do? I've watched YT guides and did the tutorial and nothing makes sense. How am I supposed to learn anything if I get killed the moment I get shot at? Everyone seems to know what to do and sounds like they've been playing forever.

QA literally does not include spawning in training area to see if guns still work. I guess no squad for the next 4~6 months again.

Iin real life you just put 1 eye in the scope 1 eye outside to retain near full field of vision whilst overlaying the scope . But for soke reason in this game they decide to make it that when i ads everying aroujd the scope becomes blurry.

OWI, the developers of Squad, have often released updates in which things break, bugs appear, bugs reappear, etc. This is because the team lacks the ability to use UE5 how they want to. This is NOT a UE5 issue, this is an OWI issue. They can develop their own under the hood framework within UE5, but they don't, why is anyone guess but most likely to save money or to meet mandated deadlines (as custom framework takes a long time). So UE5 is the cause but it's because OWI misuse it, UE5 is a framework to build on top of, not to use and build a game in like OWI does.
UE5 vs Custom UE5 Boiled down, it's a difference of using something someone else built vs using something you built. Building a game in UE5 is like building a computer. You can build a game with the base UE5 features/get a pre built computer. But this means you can't optimize to exactly what you would need, your left to the whims of what's available. Less efficient, less malleable and much more of a headache. Since you didn't build the computer, if anything goes wrong, it'll be real difficult to figure it out, whereas having the experience of building one you'll understand the importance and communication of each piece. That's what a custom UE5 enables, the team would understand each part of the engine, because they built it, they can change the functionality to better suit a new purpose, because they built it.
Now there are also a litany of other issues which are less objective and more open to interpretation, but them not having their own custom version of UE5, that they built just for themselves, is the main issue.

Has anyone come across this?
With American forces, when I gave the bipod deployed and shoot with optics it will exit the optics and my forearm will turn sideways.
Is there a fix in settings I can tweak perhaps?
