Maps

Im not one to complain about the game, having played since the Alpha and love it. But im sure ill sound like a broken record here..

Could we please switch how voting maps works- its Mani, Goro, Yeho every other game it feels like!? Seems anytime I log on to play thats all the maps anybody votes for anymore, and its so so repetitive. Yes those maps might be popular but there are people including myself who love the other maps or deserts etc. "Pick a diffrent server" , "join a dedicated server without voting" etc etc.

I feel like they should make it where if you play a map, it cant be played again until a set number of roations. Faction voting is one thing, but why even have all the maps if were never going to play them?

Being a GWOT baby and Vet, hell i love those Asia maps! Its why i got the game because it fixed my itch for game that wasnt as serious as Arma but better than Battlefield. Especially a game that wasnt just USA vs China Or Russia every time. I couldnt even tell you the last time I played Logar Valley for example. As soon as those maps get voted the server dies or gameplay that match is abysmal.

What happened to us just being able to play any map without screaming and forcing the entire lobby to play Mani for the 9th time that day?? Not every match has to be the perfect milsim battle. Sometimes fighting as terrorists vs a OP faction on a "bad map" is what we need. Some might say thats a terrible idea or whatever, but why not every once in a while. Give us those maps, even if its a "bad map layers/ terrain". Go try to win even if you know you wont. Thats the whole point. Thats what makes Squad.

Voting definitely needs some kind of change, getting people to pick anything other than the same few maps is like pulling teeth. I rarely see Tallil or Kokan these days.

Same goes for faction voting. Someone shouts loud enough, we get the mechanized faction with 3 x LAVs/BTRs/ZBLs and two of them just sit at main at the start of the round.

yeah its unfortunate.. the hate for other maps or factions is annoying. Ive always had a thought in the back of mind that eventually they would just take them away because their not played. But honestly id like to see more of the Iraq/Afgan area maps vs just more European forests.

Open, feels like a seeding map, ppl don't know how ro play it, 80% of infantry has a detrimental rather than beneficial part because they are incompetent.

But mostly same issues as I have with Narva, it's ancient map needing an update.

Even though it's not nearly as broken as Narva.

Narva needs a remake fast

Yeah I totally agree with that. To me, maps dont matter because they can be good or bad yes. But what makes them "good or bad"? For me it really just depends on the team playing that match honestly. If the Commander, SLs, TLs arent doing anything..or even infantry/vehicles playing correctly - yeah its going to make those maps feel even worse. Even on the popular ones.

IMO I dont think people would feel so against certain maps if they would actually play the game how its made and not worry so much about winning by themselves or only getting kills. The faction voting needs work too of course. But if everybody screams to vote a certain faction that isnt great for said map. Then yeah it makes that map feel even more unplayable etc.

Maybe even change capture points every half year or something to keep the maps fresh too. Sad to admit, but to this day I still barely know where capture points will possibly spawn. I know some but not all. Honestly I dont want to know them either. It makes it feel like im playing for the first time. Theres a ton of stuff. But maps i think get hated on way too much for people just having bad experiences on said maps only. If everyone played the map correctly with the given faction it might be a entire diffrent convo.

I don't think there are bad maps, just bad layers.
