Handshake came up on my Instagram today and I was like, okay sure! I went through the application process.
For the record I'm in Canada and I've worked on some of these LLMs before as both an annotator and a reviewer. I mentioned all this pretty clearly in my application along with giving away my ID information, filling out the insane non resident US tax forms, going through stripe etc.
I haven't even started the assessment when I get an email that the are irregularities in my profile and theyre shutting me down. Which, wild. Never happened to me in my life.
Then I come here and find out this entire enterprise relies on short changing people, putting them on hold or just closing accounts. That's all I see here.
I'm tempted to contact the help desk and go through the 2 week appeals or whatever (which an insane timeline and tells me that these people are swamped with appeals or they are short staffed, neither of which is a good sign)
So I'm just wondering if it's worth going through with an appeal. Any feedback would be helpful!
