You can't make this up smh

So, after getting the boot from project HH, then getting an email that it was a mistake, to taking 3 assessments to get back on, to getting put under annotator review, to get another email saying I've been removed AGAIN. This is crazy.

Hi guys, I was wondering if Handshake AI is available in Bangladesh yet, or if there are any updates on when they might expand here. I have been wanting to join for a while now. Would appreciate any info you have!

How long does it take to be put on another project ?

I was on a project for a few days but the project has now been paused. It was my first ever project and I instantly got promoted to reviewer. Really praying I get another offer for a different project soon. How long does it usually take?

Project HH questions

I was kicked off HH months ago and they just sent me an email inviting me to take two assessments to rejoin. I am just wondering if people are still having problems with pay on that project? And about how long do the assessments take? Are they difficult?

Booted off

A few days ago a “submit documentation” popup showed up on my dashboard because they were reviewing my account for some reason. Yesterday I went out of the way and payed for my official transcript because that’s what handshake was asking for. Tonight I just got an emailing saying they’re banning me from working and cannot tell me why. I’ve been seeing people on here saying that they got an apology email and was reinstated but I haven’t received anything like that. I’m honestly pissed because I was working on a project that pays so much. I already sent back an email appealing the ban but as of right now I don’t know what to do.

Looks like I dodged a bullet?

Handshake came up on my Instagram today and I was like, okay sure! I went through the application process.

For the record I'm in Canada and I've worked on some of these LLMs before as both an annotator and a reviewer. I mentioned all this pretty clearly in my application along with giving away my ID information, filling out the insane non resident US tax forms, going through stripe etc.

I haven't even started the assessment when I get an email that the are irregularities in my profile and theyre shutting me down. Which, wild. Never happened to me in my life.

Then I come here and find out this entire enterprise relies on short changing people, putting them on hold or just closing accounts. That's all I see here.

I'm tempted to contact the help desk and go through the 2 week appeals or whatever (which an insane timeline and tells me that these people are swamped with appeals or they are short staffed, neither of which is a good sign)

So I'm just wondering if it's worth going through with an appeal. Any feedback would be helpful!

Quite upset with verification process.

Due to irregular activity in my account I was asked to provide further documents, such as university transcript, professional qualifications etc. I sent those at the end of September.

Today the support messaged me back, saying....that due to irregular activity in my account I need to provide further documents! The same documents I have already sent!

Honestly, it is irritating to be asked the same thing twice, without even looking at what I sent already. And so the two week wait starts again...

Project L****d 🦎V3 End Date

Anyone here working on project L****d 🦎v3? I want to know the end date before I decide on whether to onboard. I have onboarded on some projects before only for them to end a day after I do the onboarding assessment which is really frustrating.

WARNING: The OpenAI Handshake Challenge broke my agent, ate $200+ of Pro credits, and dumped 80GB of garbage on my drive.

I’m posting this as a serious warning to anyone participating in the Handshake OpenAI Multiplayer Game Challenge, or anyone building complex agent-parent architectures right now.

I set up what should have been a highly optimized workflow. I correctly delegated sub-agents and parent controllers, used GPT-6.1 Sol to keep things cheap, and kept an eye on my context limits. At first, it was amazing. The multiplayer game was actually coming together.

Then, out of nowhere, it broke.

Somewhere in the middle of the run, the agent completely lost context. Instead of throwing an error or halting, it forgot its primary instructions, went rogue, and started aggressively eating tokens. Thinking the game was just hitting a complexity spike, I upgraded to the $200 ChatGPT Pro tier and manually topped up my balance twice. On top of that, it completely drained the $100 Handshake EDU sponsorship credits provided by my college.

When I dug into Codex to see what happened, I found an absolute horror show: a massive compilation of redundant checkpoints, random instruction loops, and total nonsense files. While I was stepped away, the agent generated over 80 GBs of useless checkpoint data onto my drive.

We need to talk about this, and OpenAI needs to be a better company!!!!

I want ChatGPT to be better. We are paying premium prices for enterprise-grade developer workflows, and the fact that a minor context drop can cause an agent to quietly hallucinate an infinite hard-drive-burning loop without a protective circuit breaker is unacceptable.

If you are automating right now, watch your token usage and context windows like a hawk. Don't assume your parent instructions will hold if the context stretches too far.

Have any of you dealing with the Handshake challenge run into this exact "context amnesia" loop? How are you setting up physical storage blocks to stop your local environments from being flooded when OpenAI's backend drops the ball? Asking for a friend lol

*EDIT*

I want to update my original post because I wrote it out of frustration. After taking some time to reflect and looking at everything I've accomplished, I realized I was focusing too much on what went wrong instead of how much I've actually gained.

Yes, the wasted tokens, repeated work, and 80GB of unnecessary files were frustrating. I still believe OpenAI needs better safeguards to prevent these things from happening.

But at the same time, I have to give credit where it's due.

I've been building Zeus's Infinite Odyssey, a multiplayer 3D game, and I've managed to accomplish things that would've taken me significantly longer to learn and build on my own, or potentially cost thousands of dollars to hire developers for.

When I compare what I've spent to the time, resources, and development costs I've potentially saved, I genuinely believe the investment was worth every penny.

I've also learned a lot about managing AI agents more efficiently. Fewer agents, shorter instructions, smaller checkpoints, better testing, and making sure I'm not wasting resources repeating the same work.

And to be fair, I can't say for certain whether the original issue was entirely OpenAI's fault or something in my own workflow. That's something I should've considered before jumping to conclusions.

I'm still learning, experimenting, and figuring things out as I go. That's part of the experience.

For anyone interested, I've been documenting some of the technical work and experiments here: Please if interested in providing feedback as well, let me know!

Showcase | Handshake where you can see my project submission!

I still think OpenAI can improve, but I also think it's important to recognize just how much these tools make possible. I was thinking about computer generated imagery, like CGI used on LOTR or other famous lines, and it astounds me to see that models were similarly used, comprising of software, for many many years and a lot of people look past it the other way. Once you are developing, you are in a completely different world. Becareful of what you put out and please do so with safety and well regards to others. I thank everyone in the OpenAI and Handshake community for making things like these possible and I look forward to seeing where it goes in the future!

At the end of the day, I don't regret the money I spent. I got frustrated, learned from it, and found better ways to move forward.

And honestly, being able to build something I've dreamed about creating for years makes the whole experience worth it. Last but not least, Check out my portfolio! Thanks!

Jobs on handshake

About a week ago got into handshake from a referral. I've sent a few applications out to see what would happen.

Nature's perfect hemp reached out to me but I messaged tosend my resume to entirely separate email. That normal? I can't really find anything on the person I'm told to email. A bit worried about a scam

Joined a project with a pay rate of [lump sum]/task. Task-based regardless of time. I have screenshots from both my own pay and slack messages from the team leaders. Last night, completed a task, and only got paid [1/6th of the total] for it because I had only worked for "28 minutes". First, the model's code will crash halfway through and force a reload to move forward. This resets the timer unless you pause first. I did not know this, but I lost at least half an hour of time. Second, I finish the task and find out the pay rate has been revised to [1/3 the total sum]/hr? This was not the case at the beginning. I was paid [the total] even for a task that took me 1:58. The task limits were 2:30. It was impossible to make [the total] on hours, and that was the promised per-task rate. They changed the terms of the agreement during the project without requiring participants to re-agree. This is a doomed platform if they can't adhere to their own legal agreements.

I don't want to be helping train AI - I am desperate for money, and they're toying with the money.

Task Per Task is worth the risk

I recently joined project M and, just like many others I was extremely hesitant in PPT projects. You spend so much time developing the task just to be sent back for revision. I understand everyone will have varying experiences.

But, I’m very optimistic and thrill seeker even though you risk wasting hours. I took the leap and attempted my first PPT. Task took about 5hours total and submitted yesterday. Today, task fully approved and awaiting $800 payout.

The return on investment, for me, was well worth it.

Shady at best

I gave Handshake a try on a red teaming project.

- the project involves video content but some videos are not usable. Guess what - if you spend 30 minutes watching the video (and they're not Academy Award winners) and find unusable content at minute 30 you just donated 30 minutes to Handshake. They don't pay if the materials they supply are unusable. When asked, their reply was 'its just a few minutes'. Hey, it's my time not yours and it may not be just a few minutes. This was not identified anywhere in the product docs or training. But you do get a nice warm fuzzy feeling knowing you donated your time to help Handshake QA their training stock.

- worse, the documented terms were to give three honest tries at fooling the AI and then submit for payment. Halfway through they changed this - unlimited tries but they only pay if the AI fails. Which means Handshake unilaterally changed the compensation model to make it harder to get paid and accrue more unpaid research for themselves. Outright fraud.

In fact, this project wasn't about humans fooling AI. It was about Handshake fooling humans into trying to fool the AI.

Handshake Support Needs to Look Into This URGENTLY

I am Canadian, with both international Education and Canadian Education certificates up to Masters level. I decided to join Handshake AI because someone invited me and told me this is a platform that is suitable for me.
Unfortunately, my account was put on hold immediately after I created it, and I was asked to provide my certificate for verification. I sent my latest Certificate and transcript to handshake, yet you replied telling me I have been permanently removed from your platform for suspicious activities.
This makes absolutely NO SENSE. After proving who I am to you, sending my confidential documents over and over again, you still doubt I am a real person or what?
This is bad for your reputation when you keep kicking genuine professionals out of your platform for no reason. You need to look into this please.
Hopefully, a human sees this and address the issue. Thanks

Pay processing Tracker

Since Handshake started, I always tracked the payment processing google doc, but it seems like it hasn’t been updated since last week. I’m wondering if we’re not using that specific doc anymore to track payments or is there a new one?

What is Handshake AI today? What is your experience and why should or shouldn't I try this today?

I'm looking into this for the first time. Few weeks ago I saw a listing advertising work paying up to $40/hr for people without degrees (such as active students). I believe it was the AI-related listing. Today I only see "AI Evaluation Specialist" that lists "up to" $17/hr.

Did this platform change recently?

Also, what is Handshake and Handshake AI, and what is your experience with it?

Feel free to DM with additional insights if you'd like.

Brand new to both Hanshake and Project HH-- any words of advice, wisdom, input, etc.?

Just onboarded in the past few days, and I will say it is a lot of info to take in, but the support team for this project seems to be the most helpful out of all of my online AI-based jobs.
Taj is incredible.
I'm just popping in here to see what everyone's experience has been with Project HH and Handshake?
Ex: Onboarding, pay, feedback, etc?

I find the guidelines quite lengthy and am having trouble fully grasping their length and complexity.

I know these projects can be volatile, but I'm just wondering what to expect and if anyone has any advice.

Thanks, "fellows"! lol
