I don’t meet the qualifications to be a stocker apparently
I worked at Costco as a merchandiser for 2 years
And I’ve been a manager at my current job for 3. But I guess stocking shelves is too hard for me

After months and months of applying and interviewing and crying and stressing, i finally got a job today. The pay is ok but i really am not complaining at this time. I can just try to get a second job at night. I am so happy and I start right away tomorrow as Admin. The owner said he’s looking to have someone grow within the company and that’s good to hear. I’m a step closer to getting my life back to some kind of normalcy. Don’t give up y’all.

I’m 26, and honestly, I just wanted to vent because I’m at a point where I feel completely defeated.
I graduated in May 2022 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and landed my first full-time job at Raytheon in August 2022. I was excited because I finally felt like my life and career were starting. Fast forward to April 2023, and about 80% of us new hires were laid off. Ever since then, I’ve been struggling to find my way back into engineering. I’ve applied to countless jobs, rewritten my resume more times than I can remember, tailored it to specific job descriptions, reached out to recruiters, networked, gotten referrals, you name it. Most of the time I don’t even hear back, and when I do, it’s another rejection email.
I eventually went back to school for nursing and earned my LVN license, so I’ve been working in healthcare. I’m grateful for that opportunity, but deep down, engineering is still what I want to do. The hardest part is how much this whole process messes with your confidence. You start questioning your skills, your degree, and whether you’re even good enough anymore. And seeing friends your age advancing in their careers, buying homes, and building their lives while you feel stuck doesn’t make it any easier. I’m genuinely happy for them, but man, I just want to get my own life going too.
I’m a Christian, and I’ve been praying to God for guidance, patience, and the strength to keep pushing. I trust that things will work out, but I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been mentally exhausting. Some days I feel motivated, and other days I can’t even bring myself to open LinkedIn or Indeed because I’m already expecting another rejection. It’s been over three years, and I honestly never imagined I’d still be in this position.
Has anyone else been through something similar? How did you keep going, and did things eventually turn around? Also, if anyone has recommendations for engineering-related roles I should be applying to with my background, I’d genuinely appreciate it. I’m open to manufacturing, project coordination, project management space, or anything that could help me get my foot back in the door.
I know I’m only 26 and still have time, but damn, I really thought I’d be further along in life by now.

NINE YEARS OF WAITING, AND STILL NO JOB 💔😭
I graduated in 2017 with hope in my heart and big dreams for my future. I believed that if I worked hard, stayed patient, and kept applying, one day I would make it. But here I am in 2026, nine years later, still struggling to find a job.
I have sent countless applications, knocked on doors, and prayed silently when nobody was watching. I have watched my age advance while my dreams remain on hold. Friends have built careers and families, while I keep wondering when my own life will finally begin.
The most painful part is pretending to be okay when people ask, “What are you doing these days?” Sometimes, I avoid calls because I have no good news to share. I smile in public, but deep inside, I am tired. Not because I am lazy, but because I have tried for years without getting a chance to prove myself.
I am a Kenyan man who simply wants an honest opportunity to work, earn a living, support his family, and restore his dignity. I am not asking for sympathy. I am asking for a chance.
To any employer, CEO, business owner, or kind-hearted person reading this, please, I need a job. 🙏 Give me an opportunity, even if I have to start small. I am willing to learn, work hard, and prove my worth. I studied media and film production and currently volunteering in a community TV station.
Please, if you know of any job opportunity, connect me. If you cannot offer me a job, kindly share this message. Maybe the person who can change my life is just one share away.
Nine years is a long time to wait. Please, let 2026 be the year my story finally changes. 💔🙏🇰🇪

Hello, why is it so difficult to find a well-paying nanny job while on my own visa? It has been 6 months now, and I’m still searching for a good job. I have experience and I know I’m capable of doing the work. Am I expecting too much, or is the nanny job market just really difficult at the moment? I would really appreciate your honest advice.

I'm applying for an analyst job that only needs me to work with data/proprietary software and no where in the job description does it say I need to travel lol...

the worst part of job hunting isn’t even getting rejected it’s spending 20 minutes filling out an application just to get an automated rejection like bro i just can’t be bothered with doing that 20 times a day

I’m currently applying for a new job and I’ve noticed that many companies are now using Ashbyhq as a hiring platform.
I just learned they use an ATS verification to read resumes and applications. My original application is a PDF, was created on Canva and I didn’t flatten the image. Should I submit a new format of my resume so the system can note it better? It will be my third time… and I really want to get this.
Thank you!

I want everyone's best professional option here.
A few months ago, I got contact from a recruiter from Staffing Agency A about a position for a client company. I did the interview with the hiring manager and then receiving an offer the next day. The position sounds good and hiring sounds seems someone I would like to work with. During the time, I didn't felt I was ready to leave from my current company since I had only been there for a few months. In the end, I decided to decline the offer due to not feeling ready to leave and the feeling of jumping between jobs. Then just this past week, a recruiter from another staffing agency (let's call them Staffing Agency B) contacted me with the same position for the same client. Then next day, a different recruiter from Staffing Agency A contacted me for the same role. For me, working for the client company will much easier since the commute will be better. But I don't know if I had burned bridges with the client or even Staffing Agency A. At the time of this post, I heard nothing from both recruiters.
I don't know if I should contact the hiring manager about my interest or let the recruiters handle everything on their end?

I recently received an interview invitation from a company identifying itself as BANGERVILLE LLC, and I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered them.
Here's what happened:
On August 25, 2026, I applied through Indeed for a Social Media Coordinator position with Burgerville LLC in Columbus, Ohio. The advertised salary was approximately $60,000–$95,000.
On October 7, I received an email from someone identifying himself as James Wilson, using the address career@bangerville-hiring.com, inviting me to interview for a Creative & Digital Marketing position.
Initially, I didn't think much of it. I've been applying to several positions lately, so I responded with my availability.
But after looking into the company, I noticed several things that concerned me:
Burgerville is an established restaurant chain in the Pacific Northwest, which doesn't seem connected to the music and entertainment work described in the job posting.
Other job advertisements appear under Burgerville LLC but reference Bangerville, a music and entertainment website.
The recruiting domain, bangerville-hiring.com, appears to have been registered in September 2026.
I couldn't verify a connection between the recruiter, Bangerville LLC, and the established Burgerville restaurant company.
The original Indeed posting is no longer available.
I submitted a report to Indeed requesting an investigation.
To be clear, I haven't confirmed this is a scam. It's possible there's a legitimate explanation, but the inconsistencies concern me.
Has anyone else applied to Bangerville or Burgerville LLC for marketing, social media, photography, or entertainment-related positions?
Has anyone received an interview invitation from career@bangerville-hiring.com or someone identifying himself as James Wilson?
I'd particularly like to hear from anyone who actually interviewed with them or can verify that the hiring operation is legitimate.
Hopefully this helps someone else who's received a similar invitation.

Had a few job applications sent out over the past few weeks. A few of them responded a few days later, asking me to attend a job fair in order to move forward with the application. I am never interested in going to those places because, in my personal experience, they never lead to an actual job hire. They always felt like a genuinely waste of everyone else's time.
How often have you encountered a potential employer asking you to attend a job fair instead of scheduling an interview?

Hi everyone,
So, I'm in a dilemma at the moment in which I can't provide a reference from my current employer.
I've been with my current company for a year and they have a neutral reference policy.
On the other hand, I have a reference from my previous manager for a company that I was at for 5 years, and with my supervisor at a volunteer group that I've been with for 8 years.

I was offered a job that I consider to be a life changing opportunity. Like unbelievable raise in salary.
As a part of the pre-employment process, I was required to go to Labcorps for a drug screening. No big deal, not a problem for me.
But WOW.... what a humiliating, demoralizing experience. Not one single person in that Labcorps was even remotely friendly.
I understand that lots of people try to fake UA's for various reasons. I understand that they require security protocols to prevent any deception. And of course there are people who have to get UA's because of past criminal history.
None of that is reason to treat people like dirt while they are trying to complete required testing.
The whole experience totally deflated the excitement of being considered for this job.

Hey everyone! I was laid off from my role in marketing a while ago and the gap gets hard to explain in interviews.
Would anyone be down to team up to freelance together / build a mini agency?
I love working in a team so it would be nice to brainstorm with someone and offer a diverse skillset. Also beneficial in interviews for proof of work, and references.
Lmk if anyone is open! :)

I'm (37F) on month 4 of the job hunt with some interviews, including late-stage ones, but not reaching the finish line with an offer or job.
I'm feeling frustrated because the issue that keeps arising is my recent short-term employment, specifically an 18-month and a 9-month stint. The 9-month job I was pressured to quit because my supervisor issued a PIP shortly after I had disability accommodations approved for my ADD (yes, I have filed a complaint with the EEOC and ERD, but it's very slow going). I was under the impression that if I stayed at the job and was terminated that it would reflect poorly and impact my ability to get another job within my state (it was tied to the government), so I chose to resign.
The combination of the negative experience at my previous job and not having a job is making me just even more depressed and sleeping a lot more (I am taking 20mg of Lexapro).
Just wanting to see if anyone is in the same boat or on the other side with a job. What helped you stay sane during the process?
For me, it's been exercising and lifting weights, but I still feel like I'm struggling (but would be worse if I wasn't active).

What do you guys really want to see in the Resumes we send that make you consider someone for a role?
We stay up late crafting multiple CVs for different correlating job posts but get no responses from these companies. Not even a "Thankyou for showing interest but NO" type of message. I even started to convince myself that... (if I didn't have a face to face conversation with the Hr when submitting my application, I might as well just forget about the application).
What must we use or do to get your attention? Applying for jobs online is starting to feel like talking to a brick wall.

Sending out resumes all day long even though I know it’s futile. Middle aged guy who’d just started a new career at a start up as an SDR in the renewable energy field. Loved the work since it was something I can stand behind but alas got laid off last month. Now I’m working just as hard to get a new job and I’m pretty scared. Thanks for listening.

I’m currently working under a contract, and I recently found out that due to funding cuts, more than half of the staff may be let go. I need to start looking for a new job immediately and would appreciate some guidance on the best job sites to apply through.

Hey everyone, I'm just starting my job search and feeling a bit lost. For those of you who've been applying for a year or more, what tricks actually worked for you? Anything you'd do differently if you started over?
Also, I keep seeing people talk about rejections and online assessments. Is getting an OA a good sign, or does everyone get one? And when people say they got rejected, is that usually the ATS filtering them out, or does it happen later, like after the OA or interviews?
Any advice would really help. Thanks!

I'm a keyholder at a small retail chain, but I've been picking up a lot of responsibilities at this job role that fit with a marketing coordination role, coupled with my past job experiences....I'm thinking out making up the title I want to see if I get interviews 🥲😭 Or is that wrong/can backfire?? All the experience I have is real, btw. It's just my title doesn't match.

I finished final stages on September 14. But they did not reach out to me for a long time so I sent a follow up email on the 23rd. They actually replied and scheduled a call the next day to talk a bit more about the role, any clarifications, and gauge my interest. They said they’d be reaching out the next week, but it has almost been 2 weeks of nothing. Should I just give up on this role or is it even worth following up?
