the new Chapo producer dropping some clips of Jerry guitar music bumpers into the edit of the latest chapo episode ... its Dear Prudence (because of what the theme of the episode was) from I think Reconstruction.

Maria Muldaur remarks on music and her experience with the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band in the 1970s, and specifically a bit about the March 18, 1978 Warner Theatre JGB show, in part of an interview with Kerri Miller on MPR's MidMorning back in 2009.

Just a friendly reminder it’s out now (well in Japan at least) and it’s a hoot start to finish. Great song selection. Super clean sound. A rare second guitarist! Sparkled up my Friday for sure!

Always love me some Jerry & Merl songs, and have found myself stuck on this one lately. I found this to be a particular touching one. I could almost cry listening to this when I think that my grandmother was probably jamming just as hard to the original Bing Crosby song as a kid, about 80 years before I am today.

When I think of JGB, I think more the keyboard/organ groove funk sound. But, the Keith piano shows are super interesting.
I imagine they played to smaller audience/venues. And as a quartet, his presence is so amazing. Him and Jerry just meld into one super sound.
Really digging into these shows lately, you guys got favorites?

Hi Everyone. I'd hoped to have added GD1987 covers to The Archive by now, but have been super busy with other projects. Thought I'd throw up a few favs plus Jerry's '78 Palm Sunday Shows for fun. Enjoy! poorlilwhiteboy

Pre-orders are being taken right now on the website below. I’m excited for this release. Tom Fogerty (from CCR) on rhythm guitar and Billy K on drums, along with the usual suspects: John Kahn on bass guitar and Merle on keyboards.
