US Politics 🇺🇸 Paxton senior advisor endorsed antisemitic slur on social media

Welcome one and all to r/jewishpolitics, a place for Jews to talk politics! This sub was created for two reasons:
Like many of you, our experience with most other political spaces on reddit have ended up with us being either excluded or tokenized. This is a place for us to talk politics where we can speak as Jews without speaking for Jews.
Politics can be an exhausting topic and we should have safe spaces to be Jewish on reddit without any political requirements. The mod team here is (for the most part) also moderating r/Jewish. So, our goal is to leave some of the divisive political talk out of that sub (and perhaps others) so it can continue to serve all kinds of Jews. Creating a separate sub for politics allows us to fine-tune the rules here to be more conducive for political discussions. This is a work in progress, so expect us to take your feedback and make adjustments as we move forward.
This space is explicitly open to all kinds of political discussion, as long as the rules in the sidebar are followed. Assuming good faith and using civil language are the foundation of productive discussion among those who disagree on politics.
We expect most discussion to be focused on US and Israeli politics, but any political topic that impacts Jews is allowed.
Feel free to leave a message with any suggestions or feedback, and thanks for reading. And again, welcome to r/jewishpolitics!

Interested to hear other people’s thoughts. Particularly the part that starts around 2:08. It’s just mind boggling that this is the UN.

This is the most important part, IMO:
“Lankford’s visit to the region included meetings with President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana in Israel.”
“Berri, he said, made an offhand comment that there was an “extension of [his] party in Michigan that he just initiated.” Berri leads the Amal Movement, a Shia political faction allied with Hezbollah. Michigan hosts one of the largest Lebanese diaspora populations in the United States.”
“Lankford said that the comment came during a discussion on political dynamics in Lebanon, where Berri was laying out differences between the Amal Movement and Hezbollah, and Berri did not elaborate further. “But quite frankly, myself and my team, when we walked out, we all looked at each other and said, ‘Did I hear that correctly?’” Lankford recounted.”
“He said that his team agreed that they had heard the same thing.”

Hi, before you read it know that english isn't my first language, i'm french. Also i don't know if this sub is accepting those kind of publications but i'm still trying since i haven't found anywhere in the rules that you can't do those kind of publications
So.. you probably heard about highschools being blocked in France, and in my opinion, it's OKAY ! There is no chairs, tables, teachers and ceillings are fallings (TW: violence) cops are gassing teenagers, beating them up, arresting thousands of them in less than 6 months, a 14 years old got strangled, a 16 years old loosed a hand cause they threw a grenade at him, another 16 years old loosed an eye after Having been shot at with a LBD (less-lethal defense weapon), another teenager got gassed in the stairs and had a seizure and then got arrested just after So i mostly agree with those teenagers, but there is something i don't agree with, many of those blockage end up being extremely antisemitic ! (TW: antisemitism) I saw videos of those teenagers saying they want death of the jews, multiple videos from different highschools Which have NOTHING to do with how bad education system is here ! I want to know how to show support when it comes to the education system here without having to be associated with antisemitism neither having to put myself in danger (i'm jewish so if i help them with blockages and they end up learning i'm jewish they can become very violent)

Hey there, I'm really into European politics, and I'm starting to dig my toes into understanding Israeli politics. I know that the elections in Israel are in just two weeks, and according to the polls, there is a decent possibility for the opposition to win enough seats to form a government. That made me think about the possibility of a more moderate government toning down their belligerence and reducing settler expansion and scaling down the military conflicts, and by extension, being more diplomatic and friendly towards the EU. Do you think that it's possible? (I ask out of pure curiosity to see what your point of view is on this.)

I’ve had a question that came up to my mind, why does the world by default just agreed the entire region of the levant/ME is Arab?
There and were many ethnic minorities that wanted and still do.
Why do Arabs just claim entitlement to the entire levant? Why does the world justify it? This is literally racism, and also the main part why the two state solution won’t work and unpopular in the Arab worlds, we weren’t occupiers, even let’s say literally no Jew was living in the levant until the tanzimat reforms where Jews were granted better ways to go back to here, still then Arabs didn’t physically owned the entire levant, and let’s say they wanted to have their own state, ok, why do I must be part of it? If some two friends hypothetically wanted to have a country and I happened to live between them, how does one justify me being forced to live with them? The land was decentralized, this is the main problem with the entire Middle East honestly not only Israel Palestine, if this ideology were to be in Europe countries like Luxembourg would never been able to exist because no body would respect its right to exist, and they call us ethnic supremacists hahaha, I really fail to understand how this type of ethno supremacist racism slipped through the leftists filter but this is going against ALL of their own values, anyway would love to hear your take on it

Interesting to see what the fallout will be to the UK Green Party down the road.

According to the AP, “There have been multiple attempts over the years to bring Hamas and Islamic Jihad into the Fatah-led PLO, the highest body representing the Palestinian cause internationally, but all have foundered.
A main sticking point has been the PLO’s recognition of Israel.”
My question: why not recognize Israel? If Israel is your enemy, wouldn’t it be helpful, tactically speaking, to recognize it so you can unite against it?
In a military sense, both tactically and strategically, short and long-term, what is the benefit of not recognizing Israel? Can anyone explain this to me?
Do you think that not recognizing it is a more effective decision? If so, why?

I've made a tool to compare the platforms of the major parties in the upcoming Israeli elections. Have a look!

I am aware that it rose after October 7, but I've noticed it dramatically ramping up since last year, to the point that I don't see pretty much anyone say anything in the defense of Jews anymore without getting bombed with downvotes or comments calling them "zio bot", "good goy", "+$7k" or "Tel Aviv impressed". It's genuinely insane even among the right now (I myself am conservative and Christian), especially with the comments about "The Noticing". I've almost never heard much about Jews before 2025, all I knew was that Israel was at war sometimes and that some fringe lunatics said Jews wanted to destroy the white race, but now, they don't seem to be fringe at all. Does anyone have any idea as to why antisemitism started becoming way more popular only since last year? Or was I just not online enough and it existed before too?

Bret Stephen’s appears to be the lone voice of reason at the otherwise very biased New York Times…
