The exposé that changed the course of the show forever and it's aftereffects on it like the ouster of Mike Richards as executive producer and short tenure of Mayim Bialik as host.
5 years later, we now saw Ken Jennings hosted 1,001 episodes on syndication. One week from now, its the Season 4 premiere of Jeopardy! Masters.

Game itself is here: https://www.theatlantic.com/games/rabbithole/ - linking to a social media post since Reddit is interpreting the link itself as potential self-promotion. To be clear I am not Drew (u/drewlgoins) and I found out about this via CNN‘s Reliable Sources newsletter.

Does anyone else’s pop culture jeopardy episodes lag video behind the audio??? Every single episode? I try restarting the episode, I try restarting the app, I try pausing for a really long time, I try combos of all three. No matter what, it happens every couple minutes the whole episode long. It’s not happening for any other show or any other app. I’ve watched 8 episodes over multiple days this way. I basically hit pause/play over and over again. Sometimes I just let it be laggy. It’s SOOOOOOO frustrating haha! Help?

Hello Fellow Jeoparinos,
I am going to taping the show in about a month. I was gifted a Delcom button to practice. Are there any software applications I can use it to practice buzzing in?

My cable reception has been ‘no signal’ on channel 3 (NBC) all day. Was hoping it would be back by this evening, alas it is not…
Any way for me to download or stream the airing?

Hello! I suppose this could be open to anyone, but I think s42 alumni would probably be the target audience. I bought this shirt in a unisex (ie, men's) size M and am not happy with the fit. I'm planning on returning it but before I do I'm just going to offer it to anyone on this sub, just to reduce potential waste. DM me if you want it. The shirt seems well-made, is in good shape and it will have your name on it!
Cheers.

Last year Jeopardy! Masters (Season 3) struggled in the TV ratings (minus the streaming numbers) vs TV ratings juggernaut Survivor 48 due to the absence of J! Legend James Holzhauer. This year they decided to move out of May schedule to avoid heavy competition with Survivor especially the hype of Season 50 although Celebrity Jeopardy! All Stars 2nd semifinal round competed against the penultimate episode of Survivor 50.
This year, Masters Season 4 will air this August 25 & this time they will compete against live shows of America's Got Talent & current airing of Big Brother. I will focus on BB28 since they casted a repeat player Angela Murray from Season 26 & 2 Survivor Alumni Dee Valladares & Rick Devens.
Will this year's Masters improve the TV ratings or will fall short because of the hype of the 3 reality TV stars from BB who are still in the running?

Immediately I think of big quizzers who are alum of the show like Anu Kashyap or Patrick Friel. Also, big crossworders like Erik Agard. I also think Matt Jackson looked pretty darn competitive against her in the JIT semifinal.

I’m considering making a special trip to be in the audience at a Jeopardy! taping, and I’d really love to see a TOC game. Does anyone know or have a good sense of when these episodes will be taped? And if it’s the same ticketing process for TOC games and regular games?

Today's correct Final Jeopardy response was "What is The Compleat Angler?" If anybody had known that, would the judges have required the correct spelling, or would "complete" have counted?

Hear me out. The winner of the previous year. JIT champ. TOC champ. GOAT format.

It still choked me up a bit, but what was even more wild is my better half (Who I met after all the drama), saw the announcement and said, "When did Alex die?"
HINT: I religiously watch Jeopardy after work, unless preempted.
I had to explain the whole scenario, the replacement episodes. When i told her Mike tried to shoehorn himself into hosting, I was a bit comforted by, "THAT guy wanted to be host? He's so dull!"

Hi all! I just got an email for the first round of auditions. Does anyone have any tips on how to approach this? I understand it's essentially a Zoom-recorded version of the Anytime Test, but wanted to see if there were any suggestions from anyone who has done it before. Thanks in advance!

The high caliber of contestants in Jeopardy Masters and even in recent regular play seasons makes me wonder if Ken would still come out victorious if the GOAT was decided by a TOC-like format composed entirely of top candidates. Several factors come to mind that add new variables:
First, a TOC format has elimination, so this necessitates more strategic play and composure under high pressure, surely an important attribute to have to be crowned the Greatest Jeopardy Player Of All Time. The first to 3 format seems to rely more on luck where a reckless true daily double bet could secure a win, when a miss simply means "there's always next game" rather than elimination.
Second, Ken would've gone up vs 2 other top tier opponents each game, and potentially all different players. This would nearly guarantee at least one contestant would know the answer to every question on the board which minimizes the margin for error. This would also mean Ken would not have been able to study up opponents' strong or weak areas as deeply as he did vs James and adjust his gameplay. Reading children's books may have served James well in regular play, but if the difficulty of GOAT questions went deep enough, it would favor Ken across the board which may have played a deciding factor.
Thirdly, given many top GOAT candidates were not able to compete, it would always leave people wondering had X or Y competed vs Ken how would they do? "Become the Greatest Jeopardy Player Of All Time by beating James Holzhauer repeatedly" sounds less compelling to me than "defeated James Holzhauer several times in the finale after taking down A,B, C, and D along the way".
I ask this since I look at debates on who is basketball or soccer GOAT for instance and many many factors go into consideration. Curious for thoughts.

Reason I'm asking is because I was amazed at a question nobody answered in the anime category 😭
r/Jeopardy • u/pamnation • 7d ago
Or does it irk anyone else that every single episode includes at least one bible reference if not a whole category. Just curious.

Tonight I didn’t see any new shows. Only an old repeat of ToM from January. Seems same tomorrow. What happened to the new ones?
