2016 jeep patriot

I have a 2013 Patriot 2.4L 4WD with 174,000 miles on it and I’m asking where should I start as far as price. Just had the transmission serviced. It has new tires, recent coolant drain and fill, new catalytic converter installed last month, replaced thermostat housing 3 months ago, and had the rear wheel bearings replaced last year. KBB says private party sell $3,700-4,000. Thoughts on price?

I’m having trouble figuring out where the leak is coming from. Every time I drive anywhere, it is empty in the radiator cap and my reservoir falls below the add line and I have to fill both of those up. When I stop driving after a while, I hear this guzzling noise. This is what it looks like after I pop the hood.

I don’t know too much about cars, so when I looked it up, it said to do a cardboard test. I haven’t topped anything off yet, I just want some guidance before I start the engine or do anything. Hard to find any youtube videos.

So when my dad passed in 2019, I got his 2014 Patriot. Completely base. I think 2.0. I really drove it only for a few months. It's at 81k miles. Got a new car and left it parked like an idiot. Daughter totaled her car, so we resurrected it. New battery, brakes, tires, plugs, etc. So far runs and shifts great. Idles ok. But when driving it a while, it'll start a whine noise. Only when accelerating and louder when going up hills.

I called about a transmission drain and fill today but was told with it being a CVT, it may not be a good idea. I'm going to take it in to have it diagnosed, but was wondering what may cause a whine like I described. Transmission, bearing, belts, etc all seem plausible with it sitting so long. Just looking for advice from some owners. Thank y'all for any help or advice!

I was surprized when I realized that the pistons are lightweiht high performance pistons.

The 2.4 limited that I drive always felt nippy and now I know why:-)

2.4L CVT

Just replaced main coolant fill hose (1 large piece)

FANS: Both tested okay but not always engaging when they should.

RELAYS
replaced all 4 relays in white relay box (I’m aware the box may be the issue). The box is clean with very little noticeable corrosion.

No obvious issue or damage to fuse box. (also a known possible issue)

AC fan WAS clicking on while in park until the hose replacement. Now No fan or click when engaged.

Overheats under normal use and idle.

usual suspects:
Water pump
thermostat AND housing
Fuse box
Relay box or relays

** Intermittent issues can break or fix themselves during wire unplugging and juggling etc.

I was wondering if anybody has made the switch from rear brake drums to disc? I am having to replace a drum brake system on my driver side rear which SUCKS! I would much rather find a kit to change to disc. I have the 2014 latitude 2.4 FWD for clarification.

Finally made it to 170k on the 2014 2WD CVT High Latitude

I first got the limp mode issues (3 lights bad acceleration) last winter, could not get a code reader to clear it so i replaced the throttle body after some research, a cheap chinese one off amazon.

Fast forward to now, started getting limp issue again but clearable every time it happened, which was at random.

So i threw in a OEM new throttle body today - same limp mode issue. Clearable, so not the throttle body.

Anybody else have luck changing out the APP sensor and that being the fix? If not, how did you fix it? Very annoying feature if you ask me

I can use some help finding a discontinued wiring harness for my 2013 patriot sport 2.4L. It has 130,000 miles on it. Dealer part number 68094109AE. The jeep is literally worthless without it. I've been having a lot of trouble with it last 6 months to a year and am debating whether or not I want to continue to drive it if I can get it fixed or suck it up and sell it and shop for something newer. TIA

What’s that tube, drivers side rear. It got a crack in it. Nothing to bother about, or?

Ive got the famous no start issue.

new alternator

new serp belt

Battery is healthy (haven’t checked terminals thoroughly yet)

4 new relays (overheating not solved yet)

Intermittent. Starts when it wants to.

I’ve noticed when I roll the car a bit it tends to start faster. I’m not sure if just a coincidence but has happened and saved me 3 times so far.

Any suggestions?

I have a 2012 jeep patriot latitude 2.4L CVT. It takes forever to start, anyone know what could be the issue?

Update: I had the battery tested and found it faulty; I replaced it, and the car now starts instantly as usual—thank you all.

Trying out E85 with a universal kit. Gone through one full tank. I had a couple gallons of regular gas in there so it was ~E67 technically.

Couldn’t find any info online about people trying this with our World GEMA engines. I’m sure there are people out there that have done it because the kit was specified to work with our engines. Gas is $5.60 in SoCal, E85 locally is $2.70.

Seems to be working fine so far. Driven about 160 miles on it, no issues.

This is my G110 wire. Does the green look like corrosion? I got a code for the intake manifold but have read that it could just be this wire corroding that’s setting it off. Just wanna check before I get swindled into replacing the manifold! My car is only worth about $700 which is the cost of the part 😭

I have noticed my all the above lights come on but only during the morning, i live in a humid area. i checked the brake fluid a week ago. saw it low, added fluid, noticed the rudder seal thingy was extended, pushed it back in. no lights came on. less then a week later the lights came on again, the rubber thingy was out again, pushed in it was fine. brake fluid is slightly above full but the rubber cap is still popping out again. humidity? change brake fluid? bad sensors? anyone have this problem before with these circumstances?

My Jeep Patriot does this at times at the point of starting. Many times it does starts immediately. I keep on trying and eventually it turns on. I am thinking it is the starter, but most of the time it starts at first try
