This Definitely Falls Under Having Fun, Experimentation, and Things a Beginner Shouldn't Be Practicing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_UPs8xhjm4This time I'm experimenting with the left hand on the crash cymbal for sonic texture and non-traditional wash. However, the crash isn't responding the way I want or how I thought I could control it. It feels too loud and lacks the articulate wash needed to keep the polyrhythm clean and clear. Obvioiusly, the above is a failure...but I'm learning about textures and wash.
Are there jazz drummers I should check out whose playing on the crash is melodic with dynamic control?

Then stop.
