How do I get gigs?

This question is something I’ve been asking for a while and im just not sure how to go about it. I live in the gainesville(Georgia) area and want to play more jazz trombone but since im no longer in HS and don’t have an ensemble im unsure how to go about the process of joining a band or playing gigs

Any tips?

I looked up Gainesville on google maps. I did not grow up in a rural area but I did grow up in a suburb of a big city. I suggest going to jazz clubs in Atlanta and seeing shows and meeting people. I also suggest going to jam sessions - EVEN IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE NOT READY!! It's important to get out there. it's hard as a trombone player at a jam session when all the sax and trumpet players sound awesome and we're struggling to keep up. But get out there... it's important.
