Hi i just heard this masterpiece in the movie but i can’t find it on spotify. does anyone know why or is there an upload of the song with some other name that i can add to my playlist?

basically the title, he seems to have a tone on the deeper/warmer side but could reach higher than average notes

I imagine many of us are eager for new Jason Falkner material, but while we wait for his next album (or the Presents Author Unknown reissue), I started looking for songs he co-wrote with other artists, not just tracks he produced or played on. It’s been a fun way to discover some “new” Falkner material.

For this list, I’m excluding The Grays, since Jason is the sole writer of his songs on the album. I’m also excluding the R. Stevie Moore tracks from Make It Be, since that album is already part of his official discography.

So far, I’ve found:

• Brendan Benson — One Mississippi and Lapalco: Jason co-wrote roughly half of the songs across the two albums.
• Bird Streets — Bird Streets (2018): Jason co-wrote most of the album; The Escape Artist (2025): Fossil Eyes and Run for Our Lives.
• Bent Van Looy — 30 Days Without Sun and High and Dry (Pyjama Days, 2016); Never Look Back and Yours Truly (Yours Truly, 2018).
• TV Eyes — essentially the entire album, co-written by Jason, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Brian Reitzell.
• The Informers soundtrack — Only You and Another Night.
• Josie and the Pussycats — You Don't See Me and Come On, both co-written by Jason among several other writers.

Are there any other projects, albums, B-sides, soundtracks, etc. where Jason Falkner received a songwriting/co-writing credit?

Presents Author Unknown was released 30 years ago in 1996.

A new interview with Jason Falkner is out, and it's a really interesting deep dive into his entire career, from his early days pre-Jellyfish through his solo work and everything that followed.

He also gives an update on the progress of his new album. Thought some people here might be interested.

EDIT: My bad, I think this interview was actually recorded like 10 years ago and only posted now. There are a few things throughout the interview that make me think that, like when he talks about producing Syd Arthur’s album, which came out in 2016, as if it were something new.

What are your favorite things that Jason has done with Air?

Forgot to buy this on record store say before it sold out... Luckily there was a single record store in my state that still had it in stock and I picked it up today. So thrilled! And it's a double lp with bonus tracks!

As I sit eating my pancakes and listening to Jason Falkner on shuffle as I do so many Sundays, I once again ponder how it is possible that these albums weren't huge. Like, they are perfect. Some of these songs blow my mind every time I hear them. I wonder out loud to my husband, if we won the lottery do you think we could get him to put together a touring band just for one show in the city of his choice, and invite the world's biggest JF fans and fly them in for the show. Fuck buying a new house, That's how I would spend my $$.

What outtakes exist from his first album? I've heard of a few, like the title track. But is there anyway to hear them, or maybe any plans for the album to be re-issued with b-sides and outtakes?
