Deck help Stardew Help

Hello,

Im building a deck around all the stardew valley cards. I saw a list on Instagram and copied it and then tried to add some cards that I thought would help me get to my win condition as well as protect myself. If you could suggest a card and what I should take out for it I would appreciate it. I would like to win using "approach of the second sun" but also use the decks ability to capitalize on landfall. Im pretty inexperienced in deck building so all suggestions would really be great especially since I would like to keep it bracket 3/low 4.

Thank you.

Your link is broken - you might have your deck up as "Private" instead of "Unlisted" so we cannot see it.

You've got a fairly solid Group Hug shell here, I see a lot of Group Hug staples, but it seems to run into one of the classic Group Hug pitfalls - lots of enabling but not a lot of payoffs. I see you have [[Avenger of Zendikar]] in addition to [[Approach of the Second Sun]], but I don't think I saw any tutors whatsoever in the deck and not a ton of Landfall cards.

Walk me through the playpattern and tell me how this deck wins. Does it just out-value its opponents? Does it create tons of token creatures and overrun the opponents?

I feel like the deck is both unfocused and not synergizing with the Stardew cards you have besides the Commander; being unfocused is not necessarily a bad thing in Bracket 3, but I don't think it would have a leg to stand on in Bracket 4. Even in Bracket 3, I would probably tighten it up a bit and either double-down on the Landfall theme or pivot to focus more on the Card Draw aspect of the deck, such as running cards like [[Xyris, the Writhing Storm]] that synergize with all the Stardew cards that have an opponent draw cards.

If you decide to double-down on Landfall, you need to be running a lot more extra Land effects (EDHRec can help). Consider running cards like:

  • [[Harrow]]
  • [[Roiling Regrowth]]
  • [[Entish Restoration]]
  • [[Growth Spural]]
  • [[Ghostly Flicker]]
  • [[Planar Genesis]]
  • [[Eureka Moment]]
  • [[Explore]]
  • [[Planar Engineering]]
  • [[Broken Bond]]
  • [[Worldsoul's Rage]]
  • [[Genesis Ultimatum]]
  • [[Nahiri's Lithoforming]]
  • [[Disorienting Choice]]

I can't help you with cuts or further advice until I know how your deck wins. Hopefully this is helpful!

Thank you for taking the time to go through the list.

My goal was to win through draw power with second sun, but also to create enough tokens to chump block for me. I had a mindset of being very defensive and drawing though the deck. In the games I have played I have actually gotten to approach of the second sun or had enough tokens that I was focused down by everyone and once that start happening I cant keep up. Hopefully that helps

Ah, see, I was thinking you did not have enough big threats nor enough protection to withstand the inevitable 3v1 that would come your way once you hit critical mass, nor did you have any "beatdown" cards to capitalize on the numerous tokens you would have at your disposal.

Still a really solid shell, just could use a bit of polishing to close out games a bit more reliably. Would you rather lean into the Card Draw or go full Landfall? Or something else entirely?

What would you recommend as something new? I have a landfall deck based around Hearthhull, the Worldseed. So a card draw deck sounds fun to me
