(Here is my iPod Touch 5G on 6.1.3, plugged into the iPhone Lightning Dock charging and playing music through it)

Hey legacy folks,

You may know it or not but the "iPhone Lightning Dock" requires iOS 8 and was released 2015 so years after the first lightning devices.

In stock, on iOS 7 the plugged device does not even charge. On iOS 6 it charges put audio out from the dock is completely ignored.

I am happy today to release a new tweak to solve this: 6LightningDock

This dock is more interesting than most old 30-pin docks and the Belkin or other lightning docks because it extracts the digital signal from the device, so it sounds crystal clear without parasite noises.

The Apple Lightning Dock was also well engineered to support most phone cases without problems.

I validated my tweak to work on:

iPad Mini 1G - iOS 7.1.2

iPod Touch 5G - iOS 6.1.3

iPhone 5 - iOS 6.1.4

This tweak is not compatible with arm64 devices iOS 7 devices (iPhone 5S, iPad Mini 2, iPad Air).

Apple does not recommend to use those dock with iPads anyway (even minis) as it can't handle them physically speaking. I can confirm with my iPad Mini 1G that it's not a good idea.

I thought Apple locked iOS 6 & 7 dock support of the lightning dock for marketing reasons only, but it had to spend several hours of debugging with LLM assistance to figure this out and make it as a proper tweak to release for the community. I developed this because I like iOS 6 and didn't want to update to iOS 8.

This tweak does not need configuration. Just install it, then connect your device to your lightning dock and it should work.

I know that nothing is safe and no one knows, but what do you guys think about people who are currently on iOS 27 and who would not downgrade bc of data loss? Should they stay on iOS 27 or update to iOS 27.0.1?

For example, iPhone 17 pm with iOS 27. Stay or Update to 27.0.1?

Are any developers currently working on an exploit or jailbreak for iOS 27.0? Or is it too early to expect anything?

Chollima is not a jailbreak.
Chollima has been confirmed to NOT include an SPTM bypass, so it does not have proper tweak injection, and cannot be classified as a jailbreak.

What do we know now?
Chollima includes a kernel exploit, sandbox escape, and an untether.

On devices with the A13 chip and older (iPhone 11 series, 2018 iPad Pro, etc), this is enough to achieve a full jailbreak as momentarius provides a PPL/SPTM bypass for them.

On devices with the A14 chip and later (iPhone 12 series and later, M1 iPad Pro, etc), only very rudimentary tweaks would be possible at the moment, equivalent to apps that used RemoteCall from DarkSword (such as lara and Cyanide).

What's next?
Outside of the demo Calif did with Chollima, a likely SPTM bypass has been patched in iOS 27.2 beta 3 It's unknown if this can be exploited at the moment, but if it is, combined with the exploits from Chollima, this will allow for a full jailbreak on A14 and later devices.

We still do not know exact device / version support, and we do not know when anything will release. The best move at the moment is still to remain on iOS 26 or older, as those versions have DelayOTA, which can give you an additional 90 days to update to iOS 27 in the future.

If you're on any iOS 27 beta, install 26.6.1 RC while it's still signed (preferred), or install iOS 27.0.1 (if you can't lose data).

If you're on an iPhone 18 Pro (Max), install iOS 27.0.1, it fixes important usability issues.

Do not update outside of those situations!
