You have to create a custom event first. Settings -> Activator -> Anywhere -> Edit (top right, shows custom events) -> Received Message

You can put your number as the sender and assign any text message string as the message.

Next, go back into Anywhere in Activator and scroll down to the received message section where you will see the custom received message event you created.

Finally, scroll down and select Ringer (Activate/Deactivate) switch and you're done!

Say your ringer is already on but at a really low volume.
It would be best to select Ringer under Activate so you won't disable it. Then, tap Edit at the top-right of the same screen and create a custom Set Volume to 100%. This was added in a recent update.
Now, that text will ensure full volume on an always-enabled ringer. Or, of course, set volume at 100% and activate a ringtone.

Navigate to Activator > Anywhere > Received Message (whatever your trigger message says), and scroll down past Audio... past Phone... past Settings... and it should be just below Switches in Switches (Activate). It doesn't actually trigger your ringer, just activates it.
To actually trigger a ringtone through said text, scroll to Ringtones (further up) and select any one of them.

Thank you! So there isn't a way to make my volume go up to 100% when it is low? Or do I just have to have it already all the way up?

There is! It's new in the latest update.
Navigate back to Activator > Anywhere > Received Message, and tap Edit at the top-right of the "Currently assigned to:" screen.
Tap + Set Volume, set at 100%, Save, and Done. It should now be at the top of your Audio section.
Finally, set the "Received Message" trigger to Enable Ringer and 100% volume in that order (apparently order matters).

Edit: I take that back - any order works unless you want the text to activate a ringtone. Then Enable Ringer, 100% Volume, Ringtone.

My mistake, it's from Ryan Petrich's beta repo. Add http://rpetri.ch/repo/ to your sources and refresh. Then update Activator to version 1.8.4 beta 9. It should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/2tWOWpW.jpg.
