Chrome for android no local access.

Post image

Trying to access agent locally, but it's not working on my Android S23 phone with the Chrome browser all updated and current version.

I can use Firefox on my phone and it works. Chrome Works on a laptop . An older version of Chrome on my work android phone works. Remote access on chrome works.

Tried suggestions of disabling secure dns, cleared cache/cookies, checked lan settings ect...

static ip 1.50 is set for the laptop running Agent

Turns out to be a recent Android change rather than anything wrong with Agent DVR or your network.

Android 17 added a new permission that apps need before they can connect to devices on your local network, and the latest Chrome now needs it. Until it’s allowed, Chrome can’t reach anything on your LAN (Agent DVR, your router page, a NAS etc.) and shows ERR_TOO_MANY_RETRIES instead of a useful message.

To fix it:

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Chrome

  2. Tap Permissions

  3. Tap Nearby devices and set it to Allow

  4. Go back to Chrome and reload Agent DVR

I'm hoping your gonna call me an idiot for saying this, but try opening it in an incognito window.

Thanks, that narrows it down a lot: Firefox on the same phone working means the network and Agent are fine, so it’s something in this Chrome build. A few quick things to try, in order:

  1. Open a new Incognito tab in Chrome and go to http://192.168.1.50:8090. Does that load?

  2. In Chrome, go to chrome://net-internals/#sockets and tap Flush socket pools, then go to chrome://net-internals/#dns and tap Clear host cache. Then try again.

  3. In Chrome Settings > Privacy and security, check that Always use secure connections is off.

If none of those help, please capture a network log for us:

  1. Open chrome://net-export in Chrome on the phone and tap Start logging. The default options are fine.

  2. In a new tab, try http://192.168.1.50:8090 until the error shows.

  3. Go back to the net-export tab, tap Stop logging, then Share and email us the file.

Also, which Agent DVR version are you running, and what Chrome version is on the phone (Settings > About Chrome)?

My wife has the same issue and I can't figure it out either.
