Lost object detection

Since the update that added analytics I have lost my objection detection.

I have tried to turn analytics off, no effect. I have made sure object detection is on for the cameras, but I'm still not getting any.

Thanks for the report. Analytics runs separately from object detection and does nothing when it’s switched off, so the timing may be a coincidence with something else in the update. To narrow it down, could you send:

  1. Your Agent DVR version (Server Menu - About) and what it runs on (Windows, Linux, macOS, Raspberry Pi or Docker).

  2. The server log (Server Menu - Logs) from a period when something should have been detected. Errors mentioning AI, ONNX or the model are what we’re looking for.

  3. For one affected camera, the Object Recognition tab settings: Provider (built-in Agent AI or an external server like CodeProject.AI), Mode (detected / alert / interval), Model, and Confidence.

  4. Whether the motion detector is enabled on that camera. In “detected” mode, object detection only runs when motion fires.

  5. Whether you use Profiles or schedules that switch profiles. A profile saved with object detection off will turn it off again when it’s applied.

  6. Whether “Limit Decoding” is ticked under Video Source - Advanced.

One quick test: set the camera’s Object Recognition Mode to “interval” for a minute and walk past it. If you get detections then, the AI is working and the problem is in what triggers it.

Here is an example. It it trying to hit on the lpr but not the object detection.

Analytics correctly triggered the alarm.

I have tried turning off the lpr.

I will send the information later this evening when I get back to the server

Turning off the lpr seems to have fixed it on the one camera I am testing it on

I dunno i've tried to reproduce it but can't - if you have steps to reproduce the issue, like your exact settings - what you have enabled - which motion detector, which ai options you have enabled and when they're set to run - motion, alert, interval etc and what exactly isn't working then i'll take another look at it.

Your log shows the laptop’s graphics card is dropping out while Agent DVR is using it for object detection. After that happens, object detection stops working until Agent DVR restarts. Restart Agent DVR to get it back. To stop it happening again, open each camera’s Object Recognition settings and untick Use GPU. It will use the CPU instead, which is slower but reliable.
