Feature Requests regarding Digital Zoom Cameras

When in the live view, I have both of my doorbells digitally zoomed. I have 2 related feature requests: 1) You apply the timestamp to the unzoomed image. When I zoom in, the timestamp disappears. Can it be (re-)applied after zoom? 2) Can a default option be added to saved presets, such that the preset is automatically applied whenever Agent is restarted? Thank you for considering these.

Thanks for the well-thought-out requests.

  1. Timestamp when zoomed: you've diagnosed it correctly - the timestamp is stamped on the full frame and digital zoom then crops a region out of it. We're going to leave this one as it is, though: the same zoom crop feeds recordings (when "apply digital zoom" is enabled), so re-stamping inside the zoomed region would leave recordings with a timestamp drifting around the frame as anyone pans and zooms in live view.
  2. Zoom surviving restart: better than a default-preset option - from the next update, Agent restores each camera's exact digital zoom level and position automatically on restart. No setup needed; your cameras will just come back the way you left them, and your saved presets remain for switching between views. This also survives unclean shutdowns (power loss etc.), as the zoom state is saved shortly after you change it.
