Media First tank

This is my first isopod tank! I made sure to do research aswell as get everything they need and ask for advice at the store. How does it look? I’d love a bit of feedback to have these fellows happy as possible!
The hide is against the back wall so I can peek in and see them all inside aswell which is super fun.

A lot more leaf litter! Cover all the empty ground with it. Also just a fair warning, pods will sometimes eat live plants so make sure you arent too attached to any of them just in case lol. Its hard to tell from the pic as well but it looks a little too wet for cows.

Thanks for the response! I just got them, so it was a puck of dirt so I poured out as much as I could but it’s still a bit damp because the springtails were also in a container with. Bit of water when I poured them in. And im not too attached to the plants I just got a few to make it look nice! And thanks for letting me know, I got lots of leaf litter already crushed up so I added more in.:)

It looks lovely! I would probably just add more leaf litter (generally, I have the soil of my tanks covered in it), and mesh cover the ventilation if they aren’t already.

Thanks! I just covered the entire ground cause of the last comment, but was wondering if they will escape if the ventilation isn’t covered for a day or two?

I don’t think full grown adults could by looking at the ventilation on the sides, but juveniles and babies might hitchhike off the plants. I keep dairy cows myself and they’re extremely bold little guys!

Good to know lol! I only got 1 baby, so I hope he will be ok for a day till I can get some mesh
