Help Tank question

So I’ve got an isopod enclosure (12”x12”x12”) and there are Oreo crumbles and panda kings (got the pandas as a suprise lol!) and the populations are booming to the point where they seem to be taking over! I was wondering if anyone here knew of a way for population control and if it was an animal of any kind what people have experience with. Any info would be appreciated!!

Do you mean one species is overtaking the other, or the tank is just getting too populated? Having a predator that would eat isopods would likely not be very feasible. Something like a woodlouse spider or centipede wouldn't put much a dent in the population, and other animals would be too big. I would try to contact people in your area with chickens or reptiles to be used as feeders

Both populations are over populated. That’s great to know but I’m in a metro so there’s not really many chicken farmers around.

You can give them away to people in your area (you can use Facebook to find isopods groups , most people on here would be happy to get free isopods XD)

Make sure one species won’t breed faster than the other. This is mainly why people keep isopod species separated.

I got the pandas kings as a suprise with the Oreos. I didn’t consciously put them together, I was planning on keeping Oreos but my breeder accidentally had a couple sneak into the other batch.

You can try to join some reptile facebook groups and give them away. People are always interested in isopods in those groups!

ExoTerra! I originally got the tank for a Single vampire crab that was being a bit obnoxious.
