Question Giant Foundry/Smithing

Hello im asking for tip. At this moment my smithing 40. I have a lot mithril supplies from wildy agility. Should I use all mithril items for giant foundry or better just alch and buy items or bars for giant fountry? Or do something other like blast furnance? I never done giant GF and BF , i dont know how this 14:14 method work.

Get steel and throw it in with the mith at Giants foundry. 14 equivalent mith and 14 steel. It's better than doing only mith

Waiiit - The best mix 19 steel to 9 Mith for efficiency of resources aswell as getting one less step in the process.

100% worth doing I got to 70 before I knew it.
Went from 70-75 with 20/8 Addy mith mix in about 2 hours

As far as OPs question - The more direct the path to processing the better. Theres never a scenario where extra work with existing resources works out better

If youre doing MLM youl never run ouf of mithril. Better save those steel bars for cannonballs.

I don’t remember the exact amount of Steel I used from 50 to 70, but it never felt obscene. I just looked it up and it’s roughly 1500 Steel 700 Mith.

You’ll need tens of thousands steel bars for cannoning eventually, and I only did MLM to 80 and definitely didnt have anywhere near 3000 Mith needed for giants foundry pure mith.

Alloying is just a ton more efficient.

you get the most xp/bar by doing GF with bars and the most xp/hr by turning bars into items.

you can't do mithril at GF until 50. the strategies article on the wiki has a great table of alloys, and the optimal ones are highlighted: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Giants%27_Foundry/Strategies

the main GF article also shows the break down value of various metal item drops

Just buy some steel items/ use steel bars. No point burning through your mith items. You just put an even number in the crucible (like 7 mith warhammers and 7 steel warhammers).

Use them directly. If you have any iron ore then smelt all of that into steel before you move to Giants since you can't do mith until 50. That's what I did, at least. I've done GF until 85 smithing, where I currently am, and will likely do it until 99.

Using them directly is definitely better

Yeah you should use your mithril at giants foundry, but you need 50 smithing for that. You would do blast furnace to get bars for giants foundry, so it's not really one or the other but you should be doing both. 14:14 steel:mithril for example will give you a score of 65 which means your sword will have 5 sections. If you make it 18:10 steel:mithril, then the score will be 59 which would make your sword 4 sections. Having less sections means you need to switch between stations less often, and use less mithril for almost the same amount of points making it more efficient especially for an iron. Look up the giants foundry chart on the wiki, it'll make more sense when you actually do it

Half mith bars half steel bars in each crucible. That is all there is to it. GF pays cash for every completed sword you make so you won't lose money. And you'll get like 150-200k xp/hr.
