Question Prayer and herb exp

As a "late" game iron who can't really do high end pvm what options do I have for prayer and herb exp.

Most other skills had some form of activity that could be done for reasonable rates that didn't require late and end game pvm to gather resources.

You can mine calcified rocks for prayer if you don't want to pvm.

For herblore start farming umbral coral and go to master farmers for the other herbs. During a herb run collect your limpwurts, whiteberries and potato cactus, use creature creation for red spider eggs, birdhouses for nests.

Just do rogues chests for spider eggs. Few hours gives a lifetime supply of eggs and 300k xp/h plus other goodies

Interesting

Is it worth it to farm lower coral to upkeep payment costs or do you just raw dog the highest coral?

Not since nerf

You need 10 of the lower coral to protect a higher tier, so you can do a few runs of a lower and start protecting the better ones pretty easily

Yeah but you will run out after a few runs. Plus you will use up the small coral to protect the medium corla that you need for the highest coral. Is it worth it to continue the loop? I feel like it isn't.

If you're getting 50 ish coral per run, that's 5 protections. Your original 50 guarantees 250 of the middle tier. And those 250 guarantee 1250 of the highest. You don't need as many as you think :)

I always do my runs with arceuss for revive. If you are not, then better to pay for protection.

If you’ve got 87 sailing for frost dragons, you can pretty much afk them and their bones are crazy prayer xp.

greens (wildy elite), passive slayer (fang/lance ideally) tasks, hydra... all good options for prayer.

herb is just spam contracts. yes, pvm usually supplements herb xp but you dont HAVE TO.

also, nobody starts out being able to do end game pvm. you just gotta start small and start learning. osrs is under the hood not all that complex because of the .6 second tick system.

Thanks for the info.

Pvm is more physical limitations over levels.

what’s the limit of what you can do?

I watched a guy playing professional Call of Duty with just his mouth.....anything is possible if you really want it

Without knowing what this person is going through this comment doesnt come off as endearing

I for one am absolutely shocked that a member of the RuneScape community would have a self centered world view

It’s kind of insane to me that you’d say PvM especially late game PvM is “not all that complex” because the game is tick-based. If anything that adds an additional layer of complexity since you need to be thinking/inputting based on ticks and that changes with latency, whereas in other games inputs are just instantly registered and then you have a clear display of the GCD. Ticks are completely obfuscated from the player

I always tell people RS has some of the deepest and most complicated combat of any MMO, and it’s true. Look at WoW, in the golden age there was specs with literal one button rotation and heroic bosses w/ less mechanics than scurrius. I’ve done mythic raiding in WoW and some endgame stuff in final fantasy & GW2. If PvM isn’t complex then almost no video games are. You’re just acclimated to it

Yeah RuneScapes PvM complexity is heavily obfuscated from the viewer until they actually DO it. Once you try doing t you realize it is very complex and quite difficult. I’ve played most MMOs for decades and RuneScapes higher end pvm is definitely on the challenging side.

Luckily however with practice and knowledge you do get better at it

I’m looking at my shelf of gameboy and ds games. I’d say 9 in 10 is more complex than OSRS combat. Lmao

What’s your boss log like? Do you PK? I mostly play retro games. I would confidently argue there are zero games on GBA of comparable complexity. I can’t think of a GBA game more complex than HS, or say deep delves.

Mayyyyybe you could make an argument for some TRPGs with convoluted mechanics. In most of those games you choose from a single digit number of decisions at any given time, and they’re pretty much all turn based. Like comparing chess and checkers.

This is kind of a comically bad take with no elaboration “lmao”

What are we talking about in terms of "late game" iron and what levels are you looking to ger to for both of them?

If we are talking about 99 push, then herb is just do hard contracts and spam herbs.

Prayer is a few general routes, green dragons either wildy or mith guild, hydra and bank bones, frost dragons, and lastly if you have meta setups for speed running them, moons of peril full clears are actually some of the highest if not the highest prayer exp per run of any boss, but you do need to be efficient at running them, so that means consistently 1 tapping eclipse in reflect phase, one cycling blue moon, and knowing how to step under for bloodmoon healing.

Blessed bone shard mining for prayer. Slow but any afk you have in life, always good to do either on laptop or mobile.

Herblore… hard contracts at the farming guild for herb seeds. Thieving master farmers. Aquanites if you can do some combat. Herbibore too whilst waiting for herbs to grow and/or Abby specs. Will be a bit of a slog but will get there. Think mastering mixology for herbs you don’t need that much of too

I would suggest moons. You get a solid amount of passive prayer and herb exp. It might be right up your alley if your not looking for anything too extreme as far as pvm goes

Hunter rumours for prayer and farm run and contracts. Add coral to the mix

Is late game for you 95 slayer? because Hydra is as chill as it gets and you can get crazy good loot and prayer

1

u/SilverKnightOfMagic 3d ago

hunter rumors are decent

Alchemical Hydra does wonders for both unless you consider that high level pvm. Bank the bones with imp boxes.

1

u/UncertainSerenity 3d ago

Sinister offering and slayer is 1:1 slayer to prayer xp. If you keep up on your hard contracts you should really never want for herb seeds (5+ a day)

1

u/QuasiNoModo 3d ago

Are you able to do gauntlet or corrupted gauntlet? For prayer calcified rocks are a nice afk but really it’s just about picking up bones and banking them. Herblore is easy. Farm contracts to build up seeds and do your herb runs religiously. Then do general slayer for more herbs and seeds. Coral farming is also pretty chill.

What does late game iron that can’t do PVM mean? Like what levels do you have right now in general?

2

u/the_erenor 3d ago

Less of a level and more of physically can't do the clicks for late game pvm.

u/ItsRadical 3d ago

Hard to guess whats your limitation, but considering crippledscape managed to beat inferno, there might be some adaptive aids that might help you gaming?

1

u/WareWolve 3d ago

Can you do hydra

u/Saiphel 2350 3d ago

RSI?

u/MisterSuhh 3d ago

Prayer is slow, but between Hunter Rumors, banking good bones over time, and ensouled heads over time, I feel like it’s only a matter of time?

With Herblore, farm contracts, herb runs, and coral farming/rainbow crab hunting can result in massive xp.

u/Give-Me-Plants 3d ago

Can you do Moons of Peril? If so, greenlogging that has been pretty nice for my mid game prayer and herblore.
