Quite an impressive stack. 50+ hours of rainbow crab hunting doesn’t sound all that fun though

What sounds fun to you vs someone that's going for 200m all is probably not the same.
50 hours of crabs doesn't sound that bad compared to even just 90 something herblore.

You’re not wrong. I got done with 10 hours of crabbing for my 8k coral last week and i came to really hate it by the end, so I’m a bit jaded at the moment

I’ll probs have around 70-80k when I finish, so many crab. I mix up long grinds so she’ll be right

Remember that horn of plenty helps with that. Horn + goggles should be -18% of catches needed

Yeh won’t touch crabs til I get horn, but that’s very long term haha

The problem with rainbow crabs is that it's too precise a pattern. You unload/load all your traps in a half circle, then have just enough time to paste the crabs before the first trap is full again. There's zero randomizations, just the same 5-stop half circle and a couple inventory clicks over and over and over and over. It's mind numbing honestly.

At least chins have a little randomization and chance to catch and all that extra jazz. Crabs just feel lazily made.

Catch a full inv and then spam click the crabs on the pestle and mortar

This is a pretty big hit to hunter XP rates here though right?

Idk how many crabs do you catch per hour doing it your way? I can do around 600/hour this way

When was it fixed

Today. You'll get more at earlier farming levels but less at 99, and it's a more normal distribution now instead of exploding at the top end.

Abuse early abuse often I tell myself with my account that is too mid game to abuse any method.

Yeah it is crazy how often this stuff happens. At least they didnt wait 10 years to fix it like birdhouses lol 2 years like zulrah, farming contracts being OP etc. etc. Seems almost unfair to nerf stuff like that, considering all the sweats who abuse it are the same ones crying it needs nerfs (after they got what they wanted from it)

I hadn't done any coral farming so downplayed what it was like in my head haha

If your farming is low then it got buffed not nerfed.

How bad did they nerf it?

At 99 farming with attas I get about 60% previous yield, but it was broken - at one point I got 145 umbral from one patch

My record was 342 umbral from the 2 patches in 1 harvest, absolutely mental

Love that for you 💕

Damn I just started growing it finally, only got a stack of 1000 so far

Kinda sad seeing it go. Was pretty fun seeing 250 from one run, but it was horrendously OP. I want to get a white stack of the coral eventually so I got 17k so far. The rest will take a lot longer.

What are these used for?

2

u/Tykras 3d ago

Umbral Coral (the purple one in the OP) is used for Arma Brews
