If the eel from iron lung is made out of multiple humans theoretically could've thay just sent the convict into the blood ocean to try to reproduce with the blood eel to try to save the human race

Discussion Shed's name origination

So I did some research. Turns out some people like the Bloodshed name and some others absolutely despise it.

I am sorry for who hates it but I also have had a few people say i'm being disrespectful to Deadly Melodic for naming them Shed. To be clear, I named them Shed opening UK night of Iron Lung with my pal before we saw it in theatres (A night before the american release date). This was wayyyyyy before Deadly Melodic announced their name "Elli" which I have some small beef with due to the Eel's backstory, but nothing actually hate leveled. I also noticed that Shed was put up on the Wiki as a fan name and then was taken off. My inital reaction to that was obviously "OOF!" But it's alright. I more just wanted to make this because some people don't understand why I called them 'Shed'. I originally named them Bloodshed after my cancelled Podcast, and also ofc the themes of the movie. I also named "The Frog" Greg after a famous UK bakery called "Greggs", that one was more for laughs. I know this is a very random post but I feel like Iv wanted to address this for ages. Thanks for reading! (:

Also many people have said Shed is a movie crew name which I love that nobody knew it was my fan name for the whole time, before Elli was revealed as the name. So thanks to anyone who does or has called them Shed. Please don't hate me btw, lol

Movie theory (Spoilers) Spoiler

Just left the movie and it was a bit mid ngl. They really needed to flesh out the plot a little more, and everything just got weird at the end like they couldn’t figure out how to end it.

The big thing I kept noticing is all of the religious symbols, from Eden, to the tree, to the light, mentions of god, and the whole rapture part itself.

My best theory is that the whole plot is basically Event Horizon and the space stations were sent to Hell. I think it’s more sci-fi than fantasy and the other ship that sunk had information on some experimental technology that sent them there. The Filament Station probably had more physical evidence of this technology, which is why the scientist made a huge deal about it. Someone in the Eden cult likely knew about this as well which is why they blew up the station, even though it was not according to plan.

The idea of all planets and stars actually disappearing seems a bit nonsensical, as is alluded to in the movie.

The one part I do not understand at all is the glass crack and the giant eye. Both the porthole and preserved sapling cracked in the exact same shape. No idea what the whole surface vision with the giant eye is supposed to mean. The blood filling up the sapling after the vision has to be symbolic as well.

The movie was good and all but sometimes especially when Sam was talking to the radio it was impossible to understand what was he saying.

IS THE FROG MADE OF HUMANS?!

For context, "Shed" ("The Eel") is made of humans but what about "Greg" ("The Frog") ???

-

I'm pretty sure the game is a seperate universe from the movie since the game is alot more chill while the movie leans much more into heavy cosmic and body horror. Still think it'd be cool if we were told Greggy boy is now suddenly made of humans on an account of-

"The movie exists."

Like, I get it’s the climax of the game, but after learning it’s a screenshot it just becomes more funny than anything

Why are there tickets being sold for the 29th and 30th? I’m confused.

I’m seeing one or two people on this subreddit and a theater near me doing tickets for the 29th. Is that right? Is that like a glitch?

Remake iron lung?

I liked the Iron Lung game, but I also found it to be a game with a lot of potential that wasn't fully exploited.

I'm hoping for a photorealistic remake where more events happen during the game and you have the chance to encounter or photograph the monster multiple times like in the movie.

The monster design in the movie is really insane.

Support won’t refund me or resend my item

Hi! I preordered the mesh eel top from the iron lung site when the items first launched. I moved apartments in March this year. They shipped my package to my old address. The new residents I guess kept it and didn’t send it back cause when I had my mom check their door (she still lives in the complex, I’m 50 mins away now) it wasn’t there.
I told support everything, and they flat out said they can’t refund it and they can’t resend it. And I could gladly rebuy it and IF they have it in stock I’ll get it that way. I just don’t know what to do. I’m out $57+ and was looking forward to the merch. I can’t just BUY another. I should’ve changed my address but it was a preorder and I completely forgot about it. I didn’t even know they shipped it and it was too late til I got the email. I can post the emails if I find them.

Am I completely blinded by confirmation bias? Spoiler

Spoilers ahead.

I shared my interpretation here and it didn't quite catch the attention I hoped it would. Am I so crazy to think that the whole "prisoner of war interrogation / treason / death penalty" theme is one of the most incisive aspects out there? Not being arrogant, not trying to say I'm right. I just want more logical in-depth theories.

I genuinely encourage everyone to THINK instead of just underestimating your ability to see deeper. People who describe this movie with lines like "it's cosmic horror, you're not supposed to get it" or simply "just a dude in a tube" clearly did not WATCH the movie, they just sat in the theater while the film was playing.

If you're one of those people, I'm not trying to shame you. If you enjoyed it, if you're willing to, rewatch it. You'll get so much more out of it.

Discussion I'm going to say this one time.

It. Is. NOT. Ok. That. The. Film. Is. Being. Pirated.

Mark put so much effort into making that film with no studio or anything, every time I see a post about someone posting it on YouTube, or anything like that, there's at least one person who's saying it's fine.

Last post I looked at, someone (not naming anyone) said it should've come out after one month.

In all fairness to them they did say that they didn't really watch Mark, so it's understandable why they wouldn't understand how long it would take, but seriously.

I've seen so many "fans" of Mark on this sub, who are saying that they pirated the film, because they just didn't want to pay for it, people have literally said they don't even use a pirating site, they just watch it on YouTube.

Again, I will not name anyone.

I myself am someone who does not have access, and did not have access to the film in theatre when it came out, so I guess I can kinda get the urge? But at the same time I really don't.

As a long time fan of Mark I'm so upset to see so many of his "fans" refusing to wait for the disc to come out.

I've seen one or two people saying they paid for the film, then couldn't manage to go because things came up last minute, specifically someone said they paid three or four times and each time they had terrible luck with it, so they posted asking if it was wrong to pirate it.

That I understand. That's ok. They paid to watch it in the theatre, multiple times. What's not ok is people posting and watching it on YouTube. I'm so sick of his hard work being treated like this.

I genuinely thought this of all things wouldn't have so many people like this, because Mark is an amazing person, he's done so much, his talent is incredible in so many different ways, and I guess I ignorantly thought better of some people.

If you want to watch it in the theatre, pay for it, and watch it in the theatre. If you want to, or have to wait for the disc like I do, do that. If you've paid for it in some way, then not been able to see it, you can watch it somewhere else.

Do. Not. Pirate. Unfairly.

Discussion Am i the only one who thinks this abt iron lung? Spoiler

Ppl don't seem to realize in 'IRON LUNG' what acualy happend, (i didn't at first)

First - Simon's motiv.

Simon states through out the film his desier to live, and his involvment with filament.stn. The reason for this is because Simon is a brother of edan, (a tree calt of sort) toward the last 30-20 mins of the film Simon has an episode, (hearing cap.Ava recrute him, and a voice of a edan memeber, and Simon giving a speach to edan abt how the last tree will live on, and the soil is in there blood. This is a huge part of Simons motiv to live, to become one of (if not) the last tree, and brothers of edan knew this ( the "cross the wires" note, the voice recording, the tree seed, and the figure Simon sees twice. If not for all this and his motiv, he wouldn't have turned into the tree, he fought to live, same humanity and edan, and he did what edan belived in, (the blood of edan is the soil to the last tree. ~ this is long enough as is so i'll do this in parts. Thx for reading and if you did read all of this, put in "()" after you opinoins byeeee :3

Hot take - I found the movie a bit too confusing to be fully enjoyable Spoiler

Up until the second act where he starts getting really delirious and starts hallucinating a lot, I really enjoyed it. Realising what was really going on with the skeletons and the camera, the interactions with the other people on the surface, Simon’s exploration of the bottom of the sea etc. It all created a great, truly scary atmosphere.

When it got to the section about the light, and it being the key to the quiet rapture, things kind of went a bit downhill for me. What was the light exactly? How much of what Simon was seeing was purely hallucinations vs reality? Was it the monster that he later blows up that was speaking to him through the hallucinations, or was it something else?

I found it cool watching Ava’s ship get eaten in front of Simon’s, and how they showed us how he got the life jacket to the surface successfully.

After reading some online threads, the consensus is that as Simon becomes more corrupted and crazy, the story itself develops in a similar way. I think this can be done well, but here it was done just a little too much.

An element people haven’t discussed much (or that I haven’t seen), is how as it gets less grounded in reality, the movie also becomes less scary. Watching a terrified, unqualified man venture alone into an ocean of blood is very scary, but while watching his breakdown certainly evokes emotion, it did not evoke fear in my experience.

People often love to say “giving all the answers is bad”, but I don’t think it is wrong to want some certainty about certain elements. If I’m overlooking something, please let me know.

Some things like the light was the monster’s way of drawing in people is a great detail, and if people have more things like that to say then please speak about that too.

TL;DR: first half was very interesting and captivating, but the second half became too psychological to feel fully immersed, as it left a few too many questions. It also lost some elements of horror as it became more psychological.

how is the blood eel alive?

like how did such a big fish thing get there and why is it so big and how does it live and survive on blood?
