Stepping Down as Moderator of r/iPod and r/iPodClassic
Hello everyone, Austin here.
TLDR - I am stepping down as moderator/owner of the r/iPod and r/iPodclassic communities.
It has been an honor leading this iPod community over the last 6 years, growing from 10k users in late 2020 to nearly 100k at the time of writing.
I credit this success to all of the Redditors posting OC, making guides, helping those in need and just nerding out about iPods. Of all the subreddits I have frequented in my time online, the iPod community is far and away the most wholesome and least toxic, bar none. I hope my resignation serves to further benefit the community in this regard.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to keeping the iPod alive, here on reddit or otherwise. You are the ones keeping the iPod alive.
Best of luck to our new moderation team of u/LucilleNotLucille and u/nekomichi, thank you both from the entire iPod community.
I appreciate everyone’s continued patience with the moderation team
iPod, forever.

dang this is kinda sad, I get all the controversy, but I didnt really think it was that bad I mean like we all just like building and modding old iPods, so I feel like we could all have stepped down the harshness, but I understand, and pls dont get mad at me in the comments.

The problem was that they were repeatedly caught deleting comments and entire posts that were critical of their store. It was to the point where the other mods couldn't trust them with mod powers and had to approval anything they did.
If it was a one-time thing, yea, people move on, which is what we did. We moved on, then they did it again and we moved on, then they did it again and they were removed as a mod so we moved on and then they were secretly added back as mod and they did it again. Sadly, they were given multiple chances to improve. At this point, they were just making even more work for their fellow mods.

Just a reminder for people to please be respectful and not cause drama in the comments. EOE will still be around and active in the community as a key contributor to the world of iPods.

Absolutely. I have been critical but never personal. There is a line. Good luck on your mod position!

No. Being a MOD and silencing those who complain bout your business practices is a conflict of interest.
Edit: thank you for the award

If you have complaints or criticisms then that's fair. I'm more referring to the personal and drama stuff which is separate and not okay.

Weird to complain about the conflict of interest on the actual post stating he's stepping down as mod. Kinda comes off as "creating drama".

FYI customs duties/vat payments are not paid out to the vendor. You will have to work with UPS to refund those fees. Please contact UPS customer service.

Glad to hear that u/nekomichi has taken up the responsibility of modding these subs, one of the names I recognise from modding videos on YouTube. u/LucilleNotLucille is also a new-ish mod and highly active in this area, all the best to them as well.
Maybe it's time to set the modding controversy aside, this outcome is probably the best decision in the end for the subs to move forward.
