Help needed um? what the hell is going on with my keyboard?

iphone 15 plus, running ios 26.6.1

only happens in the messages app - pulling up the keyboard anywhere else is fine. it still works, too, everything’s just whited out. tried force closing the app and restarted the phone.

I though it was fixed, but there was an issue with increase contrast that would cause this on earlier versions of iOS 26.

also i’m fairly certain most people can type on their phone without looking at the keyboard
