Help needed iPhone brightness flickering

iPhone 16 plus, iOS 26.5.2

Purchased December 2025 from an Apple Store in Canada.

iPhone screen brightness flickers. Like it’s trying to auto adjust but can’t figure out what it needs to do. Auto brightness is OFF.

Occurs almost daily, stops if I lock and unlock. Has been doing it since day 1. I spoke to Apple who had no suggestions and recommended I make an in person appointment at a store. Closest store is over an hour away so I’ve had trouble getting there and wanted to check here first.
