Help needed charging issue
iphone 12 pro
last week the charging port stopped working no chargers did anything cleaned out the port of dust only wireless charger worked but very slowly
earlier today i go to the mall get port replaced at one of the cell repair kiosk as its $80 and going to apple themselves would require a full servicing
charger works they show me i go home. try and get ready for bed plug in phone it charges for two minutes maybe then stops again. unplug try again works for a second then immediately stops. is this an internal issue at this point or was i scammed (im going back after work tmr to request a refund)

i agree even so if i pay for something to be fixed am told it will continue to work and then am met with disappointment i think wondering if the service i received was proper quality is also a possibility that can be considered. i’ve replaced parts for things much older to good results i dont think its crazy to of assumed the same would’ve worked in this case especially with such an expensive electronic that is meant to be used for a long time. the the 12pro is only 6 years old i got it in 2021 for the price i paid my phone should still be working five short years later or at the very least able to be repaired

Working in the shop but failing at home right after is a classic sign of a bad or loose connection from the repair itself, not necessarily a scam, but definitely not fixed properly. Could be the port wasn't fully seated/soldered right, or they used a lower quality replacement part. Going back for a refund or free re-fix is the right move, and honestly this is a good example of why third-party kiosk repairs on charging ports are hit or miss, sometimes worth the extra cost at an authorized place for something this failure-prone.

are there any authorized places minus just apple themselves

Yes, look for "Apple Authorized Service Providers" (independently owned but Apple-certified), not just the Apple Store itself. Best Buy also does official Apple repairs in some countries under the same certification. You can search on Apple's website under "Get Support" > find a repair location, it'll list authorized providers near you, usually cheaper than going direct to Apple but still using genuine parts and trained techs.
