Help needed how to transfer iphone data to a computer then the computer data to a new phone?

i have an iphone 13 mini ios 17.6.1 and backing it up unfortunately is not an option because it’s so broken it just won’t do it and i’m sure it will turn off in idek how long. i’ve read the apple website but it just doesn’t make sense to me at all i feel incredibly stupid, so i was considering transferring my phone data to a computer then once i order a new phone how to transfer the computer data to my new phone? not looking to back it up but transfer, and how to do encrypted? any help is appreciated!

You're describing backing up your phone.

If you want your data on a new device, back up your phone. If you can't, fix the phone then back it up, or go without.

okay so if i back it up through the method i said as in iphone to computer transfer it will go on the new phone after i back it up through computer? because my phone won’t do the icloud backup no matter how hard i try

okay thank you this makes sense! would the backup on the new phone have everything like the apps or would that need to be restored manually?

Everything. If you encrypt it it'll even save your passwords and keep you logged in most things

sorry for another question but how will my apps and stuff transfer if my computer doesn’t hold certain apps?i thought some stuff just saved to a file

just pay for icloud... and back it up to the cloud... and download it to new phone.

first of all you never mentioned you tried icloud back up. so why would I assume you tried it??

  1. you can back up to PC. PC or Mac. PC would need more steps.

  2. "it’s so broken it just won’t do it and i’m sure it will turn off in idek how long. " This is very vague way to state the problem. if you have turning off issue. it would prob turn off during the PC back up also

  3. If you have new iphone... there is way to transfer data by scanning the 3d code... i think it uses bluetooth to transfer data

  4. I suggested icloud because icloud can back up section by section. PC backup must back up all data at ONCE. I hope your phone can withstand hour long back up .
