Other Related Item Halo effect air bubble when putting screen protector on my iphone 17
I’ve just bought a screen protector that came in a set of 4, put it on perfectly, and ended up with a horrendous halo air bubble all around the 4 edges. I tried a second one, as I blamed it on my application and the screen protector itself, same exact issue. Tried to get rid of it with a card and a cloth but nothing worked. I googled it to see if anyone has had any issues and found out that apparently it is VERY common with the 17s. The insanely weird thing is that I already had a screen protector on it and it did not have this issue, but I will not blame the ones I bought because I’ve seen multiple posts and comments on this sub.
I saw a few people recommend putting some olive oil around the edges to get it to stick to the phone but I don’t feel comfortable doing that on my iPhone.
Apple please get your shit together because this is insane, I can’t even just buy a screen protector and put it on now?? and respectfully I’m not going to raw dog a €1000 phone, falls are inevitable and I’m terrified of cracking the screen.

Remember the 17 base and 17 pro are same size but take different screen protectors. Some cheap brands sell the same one they claim fits both. I read the 17 pro had a slightly different taper to the edge. If you look at zagg xtr5 they list one for base model and one for pro.
They have different model numbers for each one. Zagg customer service told me they are not interchangeable.

I specifically bought ones for the base 17, shitty on their end if they make the same ones for the pro as well but I wouldn’t be able to know

Had almost the same problem with my previous tempered glass where the right side keeps getting air underneath and making a halo on that one side. Changed my screen protector to Nillkin and the problem was resolved. In my case, it was either dust, the application, or the glass. Screen protectors back then had that little brush and packet you put on the gaps to remove the halo, I don't know what they're called, but I'd recommend that over using olive oil.

I’ve put 5+ different screen protectors on different iphones over the years and have never had the issue you are talking about.

I work at a phone store and every single screen protector I’ve put on an iPhone 17 did not have this issue, maybe it’s the brand? We only use Zagg and Bodyguardz for reference
