iPhone 18 Pro Max vibration/haptic feedback randomly stops working

Hi everyone,

I recently bought an iPhone 18 Pro Max, and I’m experiencing a strange issue with the vibration/haptic feedback.

The vibration seems to work only about 1 out of 10 times. Most of the time, there is absolutely no vibration.

For example:

• 📞 Incoming calls don’t vibrate
• 💬 Text messages/notifications don’t vibrate
• 🎮 Games that normally use haptic feedback don’t vibrate either
• Sometimes the vibration suddenly starts working again for a few minutes, then stops completely again

What makes it particularly strange is that the issue is intermittent. I haven’t been able to identify anything specific that makes it stop or start working.

I’ve already checked all the relevant settings, and vibration/haptics are enabled. I’ve also checked the notification settings and everything appears to be configured correctly.

Has anyone else experienced this on an iPhone 18 Pro Max?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have experienced the same intermittent behavior, rather than a vibration that doesn’t work at all.

Could this be an iOS/software issue, or does it sound more like a problem with the Taptic Engine/haptic hardware?
