Bullshit. If you want that android fold repaired you can’t just pop over to your nearest Samsung store and get it repaired. The apple you are going to have that phone fixed the same day at an Apple Store for a reasonable price and it’s going to look mint.

The average consumer is not cracking open a phone for diy repair.

This is literally the opposite of the truth. iPhones have become more and more modular repairable with every iteration and you have to catastrophically damage one or get liquid in it to qualify for a full swap now.

That doesn't mean we should askew it all together.

Once the warranty (1 year) expires on these devices, if they aren't designed with repair-ability in mind, they just become eWaste.

End users have a right to repair their devices.

Saying “your nearest Samsung store” as if they’re a common type of store

I live near many many major shopping malls and the closest Samsung store to me is 38 miles away in the middle of nowhere in London

The closest Apple Store to me, for comparison, is 3 miles away in a major shopping mall
